  1. The oil cooled 750/1100 USD forks and yokes fit straight in to the gsx750es, that's what I used on mine. May just need to modify the lockstops

Are you thinking of putting a different engine in now? have you got your frame back...
  3. I had the individual K&N pods on mine too, I never managed to get it to the Dyno but it was running well as previous owner had set it up and jetted carbs for the filters...
  4. i'm doing the same swap but haven't got to this stage yet so interested to see how you get on. I've got a 1992 oil cooled GSXF engine which I believe has the 36mm, I haven't looked at the carbs yet. Tail looks great, wish I had done that with mine originally!
  5. Nice standard bike! Loooong way to go too! I thought you were decreasing the number of bikes not increasing
  6. Lovely bike, very shiny! Looking forward to seeing it finished!
  7. I had a Motobatt on my GSX project Andy, but it didn't last very long at all I may have had a duff one as I always look after them and trickle charge etc. I've now just got a regular gel battery which has lasted a lot longer already! How's the build going?

Is there any physical size difference between the two?
  9. Some of my build is here: http://old-skool-suzuki.proboards.com/thread/374/gsx-750-es-project The more detailed version is on another forum. To fit the rear swingarm I cut the parts that were in the way on the frame e.g. footrest brackets, and got some spacers made up to centre the swingarm. Then I sorted the angle of it and got correct length dogbanes made and had brackets etc welded onto frame for the newer gsxr shock I fitted. I used the bandit 1200 spacers to fit the wheel into the 600 swingarm.
  10. I've got a braced bandit 600 (mk1) swingarm in my ES with a bandit 1200 wheel and 180 rear tyre (which did involve some work as vizman said above) As Peterrr said to get a 6" rim and 190 tyre in there the frame will need a lot of modification to get everything lined up.
  11. Fingers crossed it doesn't smoke this time
  12. Good idea certainly look great! I much prefer the radial brakes on my other bike
  13. Looks very smart What are you doing with the old ones?
  14. Big thank you to @Peterrr for the dimensions of the engine brackets
  15. Very shiney hopefully it will work when its all bolted in place, sure it will
  16. Thank you. Yes I did think when I was looking at that mount yesterday for @Cobby that it would probably need to be removed. I guess it just needs a new piece welding on slightly further out as its on the inside of the frame currently.
  17. Thank you Peter, If you could measure the engine mounts and let me know the measurements that would be excellent thank you I can then draw them up at work on CAD and give you a copy of the drawing too if you would like.
  18. No problem, thank you. I will now be on a hunt for a 750 oil cooled engine now.
  19. Has anyone done this swap putting the Gsxr1100/banidt1200 engine in the GSX750es frame? I've found this thread where it says the tank needs to be modified as once the engine is in the tank sits too high on it http://www.oldskoolperformance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1833 That's a nice bike seen that online before, is there a build thread/details anywhere do you know?
  20. Apologies I should of said initially it was a 750 frame or posted the picture in my first post Okey dokey thank you. If it is essential I would rather do it whilst I swap the engine, but as I said previously I had the frame powdercoated not that long ago when I did the original build. Now just to sort out the engine mounts...
  21. Thank you Captain Chaos, I will contact @Del regarding the engine brackets. I guess does the frame bracing still apply for the GSX750 frame too?
  22. Thank you for your replies and the advice on the brackets affecting exhaust headers etc.. I've had a look at the Katana frame brace post and read through it. Is this essential, will my frame bend with the oilcooled engine in if I don't brace it? Only reason is I had the frame powder coated originally when I did the build so would ideally just like to swap the engine and necessary parts to do the swap. Here's a pic of how it currently stands
