Dezza Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 I would guess at GS250, GSX250, GSX400 (twin, not the four as that had a rear disc) and so on. If you find the part number required then you can cross reference to other models to widen your search. I have to ask though: why are you restoring a GS425? Do you have a nostalgic attachment to this model? And welcome to OSS .
Captain Chaos Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 maybe restoring with a brown seat, exhaust wrap and badly running engine? 4
gs7_11 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 I love mine. Hope it's being done right.....no brown seat or hacked-off frame. 1

The GS425 is the same but with 2mm bigger bore. The GS850 has 69mm bore. But yeah, it's a classic GS engine, lots of parts in common. 1
gs7_11 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Oh, and just looked on CMS..... the GS450 rear brake plate is the same and there are several on Eblag.
johnr Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I wonder if the brake plate from the spoked wheel two stroke models are compatible, there were a lot of gt's in breakers!
gs7_11 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Not according to the compatibility checker on CMS.

Thats interesting if the 425 has a roller crank, guess the gs400 is same. The gsx250/400 was plain bearing.
1100alg Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I've not been on here for a couple of years as i sold my katana a while ago but hopefully just about to purchase a GS425. I'll probably have a few questions once I've bought it. 1
