  1. Had a gsx400 years ago, which is very similar, wasn't anything special, there are plenty of smaller & larger bikes offering bags more character and chances are you'll need to throw more money at it, i'd save yer money and get something you really like..
  2. Ta for replies, hadnt seen that vid. Those spigots/ports? No.1 is cast blank. So only 3 ports. In the roof of the float bowl no.3 has a ball bearing , the others are open. Perhaps that one (no.3) is the vac tap?. (As gs7_11 suggested). If the other 2 are vents they need to be unblanked? You were right, the plastic floats from bs34 carbs hardly fit (restricted travel), but good to see vid shows direct plastic replacements available.
  3. Thought they looked similar but I'll check if they physically fit.
  4. Still prepping these original slide carbs to replace the cv' s on a gsx1000. Is it worth swapping out the brass floats for the plastic ones from the cv' s? I do try to stick to e5 fuel..... but? The carbs have a central fuel inlet, but carbs 2,3 & 4 all have a brass inlet spigot for a vacuum hose? Do 2 of these need blanking? Ta
  5. I 'll take a look early in the week if you're still after these measurements. Cheers
  6. For the exhausts a lot of these had Motad 2 into 1 which were more durable than the original twin silencers.
  7. Ta Spelli, Took a look at Tourmax, as you say several Suzukis using MSR301 for the rear kit, so that's sorted. Also shows a front kit MSB301 for gs1000/850 but guess that's the cylindrical reservoir...
  8. How did you get on with sourcing a front brake repair kit or replacement unit? Did you get a repair kit for the rear? I'm in a similar position with a std Katana, rear needs a repair kit & front needs replacement master cylinder.
  9. Apparently the Esso e5 fuel is ethanol free, unlike other brands which contain up to 5%.
  10. Not been to Kempton but it's meant to be a decent event & not much else happening at present. Might take a look..
  11. Nice, looks fairly std but slides and V & H..
  12. So you chose this EFE over a Kat at the start of the post, but now your keeping the Kat & selling the EFE. What happened?
  13. Yep nice machine. Is that a Harris pipe?
  14. K&L replied that they don't supply a kit for the VM32 Mikunis, so I'll be trying the kit from fleaBay. Comprehensive pics & E10 compliant. Lets see how they perform..
  15. Not heard of them before, I'll give them a call thanks.
  16. Have spotted an o-ring kit on fleabay with comprehensive photos, UK seller. Perhaps worth a punt. Not found anything with a trade name.

  18. Hi, do you folks know is there a replacement o-ring kit available for these 32mm carbs? Just recomisioning and o-rings on the jet holder for the main jet have disintegrated. Jet holder measures dia.5.2mm where o-ring sits. Worthwhile replacing all at once tbh.
  19. Ok is that definite? Press release confusingly mentions 9th Sept. Also!
  20. Ta for replies, might all be in vain. Just looked on net for 1982 gsx1000sz front m/cyl service kit. Shows detail diagrams but 'No longer available'. I'll have a hunt around.
  21. Nice idea using boiling water though I was nervous of damaging the flexible rubber seal in the cap. Tried a bike pump & after much effort the washer released, but only the washer. Tried some more & eventually a soft flexi seal released. No further success with the remaining parts. Tried boiling water but because the seal is leaking it doesn't build enough pressure. Might try see if I can get a small drill down side of the piston to free the stubborn seal next.
  22. Trying to strip the original masrer cyl that had shat itself over the fairing. Removed the dust cover & circlip after modifying my pliers with an angle grinder. Then hit a brick wall. The manual says next remove the washer but it won' budge, even had molegrips on the piston with a slide hammer & tried tapping with a deep socket but no result. It' as if the circlip was still fitted. Any ideas? Piston springing freely.
  23. Yep nice find. Believe there were a few differences to the 1100, peakier cam? Have a set of vm32’s I’m planning on fitting sometime but needles are currently seized. Slides have movement but not the needles. Left them stored empty of fuel but the residue has destroyed them! Currently soaking needles with wd40... gutted!
