Trying to get motivated, and start working on the TS again…

…mounted tires onto the wheels, and balanced and trued them up.

Fit them to bike to verify that I have clearance for chain and front brake torque arm.

New Mikuni 34mm carb, NOS cables, and bike specific jets, to replace the 32

High end dual spark ignition to basically replace just about all the electrics, gain peace of mind along with more HP.

Soda blasted the cases and cylinder today.

Trying to decide if I want the engine all black as original, or to polish out all the covers, and edges of the fins to brighten up bike a little.

need to make a new bracket for the exhaust also, now that I know exactly where it fits up to. Also got all my trans bearings and seals, and my gaskets should be here by the weekend.

When I used to spectate at Harewood hill climb there was a class for 1950s 500cc single seat race cars , usually manx Norton powered coopers ,that sort of thing and invariably they used Castrol R , and yep they smelt delicious !

Took my frame/swingarm to get sandblasted this past Thursday. A shop around the block from where I work, does industrial powder coating…and sandblasting on the side. Will be a few weeks till it comes up on its cue,  and then I will take it to work and get the bits painted.

Also was able, after about a 6 month search, to find an aluminum lower triple clamp from a 74 TM400… to replace the bent heavy steel original from the TS…

Brought frame back from the sandblaster and put some paint on it yesterday. I used a polyuroxy black primer and then clear coated it with about 10% flatner to give it the right factory look.

Thanks guys :tu

I am taking much longer than I had ever expected on this particular project. I seem to find myself just staring and thinking more than building as I get older…but it will get finished.

you can always give it to me and i'll finish it :D

Got new fork tubes a few weeks ago, to replace the bent originals.

image.thumb.jpeg.a663664f7bd47b191dea21226a99fac6.jpeg

Then I got my emulators to modernize the ancient forks

New tapered head bearings installed

image.thumb.jpeg.63a8a712224ce3f1d2cd60f6e256a658.jpeg

With the added emulator parts, and the 1.5 inch drop spacer, I had to cut my springs to get the right preload.

Bike now sets level, instead of the nose high attitude most dirt bikes have.

Now it’s time to get serious about the rebuild of the engine.
