redgs1000 Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 Will need to get the dremel out to cut new slots. Then the foot pegs will line up hopefully 1 Quote
redgs1000 Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 Trying to tidy up the plates with the dewalt cnc machine before they get a polish. 1 Quote
redgs1000 Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 Test fitted the foot rests and plates and all looks ok. Just need to realign the foot pegs and might have to get a longer pipe for the brake reservoir , but it will fit on the original bracket 1 Quote
redgs1000 Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 Another hour lost trying to get pics off that fucking phone 2 Quote
redgs1000 Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 Got the foot rests lined up straight after bit of work with the dremel. Then put two small ball bearings in to keep them in place plus a bit grease, try and get a bit more done over xmas. Plus the tank I've got is looking ropey so that's going to take some time up, unless I can find a decent one 1 Quote
wraith Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 It's all coming on nicely, looking good Quote
redgs1000 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Finally got a 530 chain on. Just rubbing the frame in two places that only needed the original welds cleaned up for clearance. The 180 rear tyre was just to wide as the chain was getting moved sideways , put a 170 on and that's now given a decent clearance. 5 Quote
redgs1000 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Tail piece sanded and hope to have it painted before the bike show. Brakes are all bled now and put a new joint on the gear linkage ,found one that bolts on so ground the old one off, gave the rear caliper carrier a quick polish also 2 Quote
BasilBrush Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Had my GS 1000 about 20 odd years and always regret selling it. Something special about the sound of the old 8 valve engine and the Harris Black Chrome works exhaust it had. Howled like a banshee, when on full chat Quote

Black looks the dogs nadgers . Shame they all seemed to rot at the collector. had to reweld mine a couple times. Stainless would be good or Titanium, like Racefit make theirs from. last forever then 2 Quote
BasilBrush Posted February 29 Posted February 29 Just an idea. I believe guy who built this was called Strangewayze on here, years ago. Don`t know if he is still on here. Would love to have heard this. 8 valve engine with turbo. Must sound like a Lancaster bomber taking off. eccentric rear ride height adjuster for rears shocks. Not seen that before on a twin shocker 2 Quote
Captain Chaos Posted February 29 Posted February 29 yes that's @Strangewayzbike, the most awesome project build on the old site IMO. 4 Quote

Did he ever complete it and have it running ? I remember following all the work he did to notch the frame for chain line etc. Never seen craftsmanship like it. Quote

As far as I know they were made under licence but quality was bit hit and miss. Still would have bought one tho even it meant spending time to make it fit Quote

They were to far gone or to much money, the delkvic looks like the old alfa1 or the piper exhausts back in the day. Quote
