manden Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Has anyone else than me run into problems with installing an 327mm rear shock in an slabside 1100? Quote
manden Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 My cushion sits like this, and only give 50mm of travel before the shock hits the swingarm. Wrong lever maybe? Quote
clivegto Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Don't know but that's a 1100 lever. 2 Quote
manden Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 It's an 1100 lever. But something must be off. The only thing I can find is that the shock is 327mm unloaded Quote
manden Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 How is the eccentric bearing supposed to sit? Quote
manden Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 Could be. Has the length of an 1100 Quote
dupersunc Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 The bearing in the eccentric should be at the bottom. Does look like a 750 arm. 750G and H arms are same length as a 1100 arm. The mount for the link is beefier on the 1100. 1 Quote
rodneya Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 (edited) this might help old post mentions longer shock will hit the swingarm Edited February 28, 2022 by rodneya added text 1 Quote
manden Posted March 1, 2022 Author Posted March 1, 2022 Is there any way to tell for sure if the swingarm is from an 750? And don't the 750 have dog bones? Quote
manden Posted March 3, 2022 Author Posted March 3, 2022 Quite sure I got a 750. But I'll have to check it up tomorrow night. The rear wheel is also acting up. Quote
manden Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Ive been looking around for swingarms and I can get a decent one cheap from an water-cooled 1100 with damper/lever/dogbones/rear axle/pivot axle. Will it fit? From what I can rest on our interchangeable chart it should. But will it in the real world? Quote
dupersunc Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 the linkage isn't interchangeable. If you are struggling making what you have work, buying a WC are and link is unlikely to make things easier Quote
manden Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Super... Have you tried it out. Im desperate here. Quote
dupersunc Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 First thing to do is assemble the linkage on your current set -up correctly. It's a faf, the Slabbie 750 and 1100 stuff looks the same, and bolts togelther, but they're all subtly different so not all combinations work, People have run 750 arms on 1100 and made it work extremely well, Manx gp bikes type well. I've only ran an 1100 arm on a 750 frame, and I wasn't really happy with it. See if some one has an 1100 arm would be my advice. 1 Quote
manden Posted March 5, 2022 Author Posted March 5, 2022 I have found a good and sound 1100 arm that appears to be straight. But insanely expensive. Actually all I have found on the net have been very expensive. So if I could upgrade to an better swingarm for the same or less money, I would opt for that Quote

Prices tend to be cheaper on here than on eb@y . 1 Quote
