HUM Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 (edited) Hi I am thinking about a Top End Oiler, self made with AN / DASH connectors and pipes ... What should you pay attention to? - stronger oil pump e.B from the GSX 750 - how should the diameter of pipes be DASH 4 ( 5,5mm inner dieamter ) enough ? - what is the real advantage of the Top End Oiler ? My engine - 1074ccm - Yoshi stage I cams - intake channels smoothed - BSS 36 carbs from EFE - stock airbox, given a bit more air :-) - V&H 4/1 with race baffle Cheers Uli Edited December 29, 2020 by HUM Quote
Gixer1460 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 At that spec - no real benefit what so ever! You'll have to strip the whole top end down to correct the oil flow pathways for marginal gain! Change it up to a gorrila block, big studs, worked on head with BIG lift cams and you may get the benefits, otherwise no! Quote
coombehouse Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 I run an external oil feed only because I have oversized studs & a big bore & had lots of oil leaks until I fitted it. A good way to increase oil feed apart from uprated gears is to make & fit a gasket to the oil pickup in the sump. It doesn't have one as standard & using one seems to have solved the issue I had with an occasional flickering oil light at idle. Quote
fab Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 i made a 10mm spacer to drop the oil pickup closer to the bottom of the sump it increased oil flow on my oil gauge i fitted to my bike Quote
Reinhoud Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 With stock studs you don't need modification, with bigger studs you can drill up the holes in the cylinder block and partly the head. Quote
