Morning Guys,

Does anyone know if can replace the right switch from a GS 750 with some from another brand without messing with wiring? Can't find any original replacements anywhere...

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Certainly not another 'brand' - wire colours are not standard across OEM's! Why not look at switchgear from later models - GSX, GSXR etc. Remember the bike is nearly 40 - 50 years old, spares aren't common and you've been asking for a week! Some people search for years for the correct part for old vehicles!

What's wrong with your old switch? With care, and a magnifying glass/tweezer combo, switches can often be restored fairly strightforwardly.

The only exception to this is the idiotic single toggle lh switch used on 1100 katanas and efes. These should be immediately chucked in the bin, replaced with a GSXR unit, and then an abusive letter sent to the plonker in Japan that thought they were good idea in the first place, probably.....

The switch would work just fine, but i won't stay in position and furthermore, a thread broke out a few days ago. Tried to glue in a new one with different kind of 2k epoxy, but nothing worked til now...Got really frustrated and because of this, i thought about getting a "new" one. So i ordered one from CMNSL :)

True, but i don't want to wait years. Not because of a switch. And as you should already know, i don't intend to stay completly original.

I put Gsxr 750 j switchgear on my gs1000 and iirc the wiring is pretty much identical , same colour codes anyway and swapping the plugs isnt hard. Just push the pins out with a tiny screwdriver from the front

could be complicated if you have slide carbs on the gs, cos the gs/gsx ones for cv carb bikes only have one throttle cable mount, if you have slide carbs on your engine the switchgear on the right bar will have a push/pull throttle cable setup.

have you tried gs550 switches or gs 650 kat, they seem pretty generic across that era..

@SkaterdaveThanks for trying to help a member out.

Might be wiser to sent a Private Message to offer help.

Otherwise i have to sound all grown up and type things like;

"Please keep the selling of bits in the Marketplace. All explained in the rules"
