  1. Thanks for the tipps say what now!?. Turned out that the carbs weren't synced at all and after doing that, the tick is finally gone. Now the bike runs really damn nice
  2. Already tried that and it is definitely not too lean...
  3. Good morning everyone, i have a problem with my GS 750 lately and could really need some help or input. But first excuse my english vocabulary, it's not my main language. As soon as the engine gets warm, it backfires and i have no idea why. I use K&N Pods, new coils, new plugs, a Dynatek S, new intake manifolds etc. Got the right jets for the carbs on a test bench and it runs really well...Except for the backfire and the drop in rpm in neutral position. Here are some vids that hopefully help you to understand my issue...
  4. Both are cable tachos, but that doesn't mean it will work. As you suggested, i just have to try it out. So i ordered the tacho and as soon as i have it, i will make some tests with a drill (both Suzis are currently partially into pieces).
  5. God damnit, i used the wrong term. Sry for the confusion!! I always mistakes those two... To mak sure: i want to use the rev counter from a GS 450 on a Gs 750. The question is, if this will work? Cheers
  6. Hey richyrich. Just to be clear, i don't mean the speedo (km/h or miles). I want to use the tacho (or rev counter?) from the GS 450. Not sure about the part numbers though.
  7. Good evening, does anyone know if the tacho from the suzuki gs 450 s or l will work on a GS 750? I have a plan in mind and it seems the tacho from the GS 450 has the same size as the tachometre from the GS 750 L. Cheers, Harald
  8. Yeah, thought about the too. But i want to make sure that i have something that really fits and and maybe i will use the left over conversion kit for a later time. I also can compare the front and rear sprockets and take some measurements, which will help to make the 530 kit truly fit. And it is not like the 530er kit is going to waste away. By owing now two GS 750s, sooner or later i will need a new chain
  9. Indeed quite a nice word. Re-read the post from yesterday and corrected some other spelling errors. Forgive me for my poor use of the language, but unfortunately, i was never good at learning different languages. Although i read quite a lot english literature...
  10. Got the information that you can't use a 530 conversion on a Suzuki GS 750. It's an earlier model with spoke rims. Yesterday i removed the front Sprocket and inspected everything. According to cmsnl and the manual book, everything seems to be right. After that i put loosely evertyhing back together. By doing that, i noticed some possible extra space. Then I pushed the sprocket aginst the nut and tried to turn the chain again. This time it worked. Conclusion: you either need a 640 conversion kit or an additional space ring ( maybe 1-3mm?). Hard to guess... Nevertheless, i already ordered the original set up.
  11. Where did you get this picture? Cause in the official work manual from the GS 750 this part is not listed! Doublechecked that.
  12. I can't check anything if i can't put the chain on the sprocket Maybe i need another spacer (just a few mm) put behind the sprocket? Or i try the original settings..
  13. Yes, i checked for the parts and everything is there, where it should be. Even checked the dimensions of the spacer (Nr. 37) Yes, without any problems. And no, the rear sprocket isn't mounted at the moment. What i can say is, that it seems the chain is hitting against the inner casis the left middle point. Maybe it is the 530 sprocket? Thinking about ordering the original set up. Cheers.
  14. It is not in gear. I checked that first It seems there is not enough spece between the chain to inner side. I can only turn the chain to the point seen in the picture. Guess i need a distancer or something like that...
  15. Hey guys, i have a little problem with me recent purchase, a GS 750. Turns out the previous owner changed the front sprocket from 15 to 14 and rear sprocket from 41 to 43. The purchase also included a new chain, a 530 ZRT - 114. After consultating Greg (alias Nanno), we came to the conclusion that this type of chain should work. My problem now is, that it simply does not. If i put the chain on the front sprocket it fits nicely, but i can't turn the sprocket. Something seems to be in the way and i have no idea what. Can anyone may enlighten me? Any help would be really appreciated...Damn thing makes me crazy Cheers
  16. I bought a new one from cmsnl for about 80 euro and it works fine. Not the cheapest solution, but i guess it's fair for something that rare.
  17. Hello guys, i have a little problem and could need some help. My original fuel petcock started leaking and the repair kit didn't fit properly either, so that it was even worse in the end. Seems like that this a common problem among all the repair kits. After some research, i found the Tourmax 308 which fits the GS 750 perfectly. The only issue i have is the way the outlet shows...To the right and it's a pain in the a** to properly place the fuel tube..At least for me. There is also no other way to place it cause of the narrow space..Does anyone know a solution or an alternative? Other than the way too expensive pingel version. Here is a picture: The way it is now, it works but it is not perfect and scratches the left side cover as you can see. Cheers
  18. Yeah, the one you have should be a cheap replica fitting the GS 750. You will probably need something like this: https://www.Eblag.at/itm/KR-Benzinhahn-Fuel-tap-FPC-306-SUZUKI-GS-550-850-1000-GSX-750-1100-1980/161109280230?hash=item2582dc85e6:g:QXQAAOSw~y9ZAcFg
  19. The switch would work just fine, but i won't stay in position and furthermore, a thread broke out a few days ago. Tried to glue in a new one with different kind of 2k epoxy, but nothing worked til now...Got really frustrated and because of this, i thought about getting a "new" one. So i ordered one from CMNSL True, but i don't want to wait years. Not because of a switch. And as you should already know, i don't intend to stay completly original.
  20. Morning Guys, Does anyone know if can replace the right switch from a GS 750 with some from another brand without messing with wiring? Can't find any original replacements anywhere... Thanks in advance. Cheers, Harald
  21. No no, of course it's worm driven Just asking cause i found an offer in germany. On the other hand i also just found something from a 650 Katana (also worm driven). Yeah, i just don't get why the people here, who are on the hand so nice and always ready too help, on the other hand nearly get an heart attack when i mention ho##da. That's something i will probably never understand, cause i love bikes from all types of brands. Yeah the thing is that i just couldn't find any single good looking instruments from suzuki. The tip with the GS 650 L is great, but they are quite rare it seems. Can't find anything for now. Except the instruments from the GS 450 (which "only" go up to 200km/h) and the instruments from a 650 Katana.
  22. I Yeah, and i would use them without any doubt if they did work. I really can't understand the hate towards this brand, but well, not my problem. Thanks wraith! Do you know if the instruments from the GS 450 may work? Speedo yeah, but the tacho? They can also be used as single units und look simple but nice.
  23. Why not? I really like their finish and they work quite well on my Gurls blouse. FFS, i don't care about your irrational Gurls blouse hate and will use whatever fits my taste. But thanks anyway for the tips. The GS 750 have no outer shell and i don't have the abilitys to make one. Additionally i should mention that i want two single units and not one whole unit like the original GS 750 cockpit. I prefer a clean, minimalistic look without a ton of plastic. Cheers
  24. Morning Guys, i am currently looking for a replacement speedo and tacho for my GS 750 and could really use some help. Tried out the instruments from a CB 550, but the speedo doesn't really work above 120km/h and the tacho shows general wrong numbers. Shame, cause i really like the size and look of these kind of instruments. Does anyone of you may know similar ones, which do function on the GS 750? I don't care about the brand, but i would prefer old ones that just do their job. Thank you very much in advance. Harald
  25. I adjusted the setting of thecarbs just like in the link describtion you had sent me. I use the original jets and air filter box and the carbs are running really nice at the moment, even without any synchronistation so far. Would love to change the air filter box to simple pods though, but it seems to be a rather difficult task unfortunately. Well i hope that it charges the batterie while running. To make sure it won't drain the batterie, i installed a simple battery disconnecter switch. Takes 5 seconds now to simply disconnect the circuit after a ride
