Kat tacho needle snapped

Kin tacho needle has snapped off , want to keep clocks original so anybody have any ideas about a repair or know anybody that can fix it?? bike isnt original but want to keep the standard KAT clocks !!

I can recommend a guy overe here in Germany who does Kat Clock overhauls on a high level, dunno about costs. Can get you in contact if you want.

Other than that - cheese pickers are a well known replacement for speedo needles.

seen that Kat many times over the past few weeks looks even better up close , my kat needle snapped the exact same place the first time it went down the road I made a new one out of a trimmed down coffee stirrer painted orange but don't think it would be up to the quality of the rest of the bike

if the tip is still in the dash couldn't you just super Glue it back on?

As long as u have a steady hand that is, or don't stare at richargs1000's avatar for too long

There was a guy in Germany making replacement needles for the Katana Owners Club. One price for members, little bit more for non members. See if you van find FatBoyJohn?

Sorry but the needles are no longer available of KOC, the german company stopped making them. 

The rest of the Needle will be in the bottom casing, but due to time the are normally very brittle and curved.

And the replacement Bezel and glass are no longer available so you will have to prize open the clocks carefully and slowly.

 

There are several alternatives as in clocks to raid needles off but getting them at the right price is hard, or you can use certain plastic  cocktail sticks but you will need to paint them the desired colour.

look on Eblag for a firm called 'mitzibits' they break mitsubishi shogun 4x4's. the shogun clocks needles are identical to the katanas, and cos theyre inside the car and protected from uv light, they retain their colour and are still bright orange, same fitting, same length etc. ive bought sets from him before now for a fiver a pair but he has got wise to demand and upped his prices, but you should still score a set for a tenner or so. alternatively the old hodna lardwing clocks have identical needles to the kat except they are white not orange, i did pete camis clocks with wing needles, good match for stock. but you need to be uber uber careful removing the old needles, theyre mounted on a super delicate spindle that can and frequently does snap off if disturbed. pm me through the club and i will go through how to change them, ive done a couple of sets.

i bought 2 sets of the german made needles, but gave one set away to a club member, theyre a pretty good match, the mitsi ones also fit ok.

just searched for mitsibits, he has none listed, but its worth emailing him on Eblag and asking if he has some on the shelf.

You can use the needles out of gsxf/gsxr clocks, have a look on eb*y for some fu*ked clocks and use the needles out of them
