Couple of hours today trying to get the beast to start, battery charged and tested ok static and under load.Still nothing checked for fuel flow and all good.

Tank off coils checked and found the spade terminals were all knackered, stripped and replaced the terminals.Quick test and we have a spark xD.

Tank back on and hit the starter and we have life...

We all like a good list....

So here's the update

Tyre warmers-not yet can I use an old quiltO.o

Genny-sold some stuff so now have the funds for it:)

Fuel cans-Not yet

Fire extinguisher-sorted

Front stand-sorted

Bike related tasks are as follows;

Refit the carbs-done

Fit the yamahaha throttle and new cable-done

Change the clutch cable-done

Change the bearings in the wets and get some normal road pads-not done

Sticker the beast up OSS style-done

Check the regs to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything-done I've forgotten loads

Learn how to lockwire like a pro and then lockwire like a complete amateur probably-drilled all necessary parts ready to do this

Test ride on a closed road/track-does round my garden count

Shakedown test at a local track-booked at Donny for March

Plus new jobs sorted like there's no spark so it won't start-done (y)

Get a catch tank (lower fairing) and fit it-got the fairing need to fit

ACU test is fast approaching but will do it on my road bike as the blandit won't be ready in time.

Eye test done, dog tag made, forms filled out, clubs joined.......never thought it would be this difficult...:D

Aye there is plenty to think about. Don't forget to practice your race face.

That only lasts until the red lights go out. It is quickly replaced by a child like  expression of Christmas morning euphoria. This expression is accompanied by a strong urge to jump and down chanting "again again again" in a giggly high pitched voice.

You missed out the bit about having a small bladder and the need to go wee wee as soon as you zip up your race leathers. You also missed out the sudden desire to sleep and inability to function that onsets the moment the final checkered flag of the day is waved.

Replaced the throttle grip, got her running and ticking over a little better, seems to rev cleanly only a real road test will confirm that.

Number boards back on and secured, also did a bit of lock wiring, sump plug, oil filler and oil filter all secure.

The list gets a little shorter,ACU test next Saturday at Mallory Park :)

Ive always gone for 20-30mm front and 10-15mm on the rear

don't worry about it too much at the moment just get used to ragging around the track I did notice most of the quicker bandit riders are using a brand new rear shock maxton, nitron etc so if you are using a second hand one get it rebuilt and re gassed  most standard shocks lose the nitrogen in three years
