  1. Cheers Fula, its came out really nice, better than I could've expected. Gone for a clear anodise, decided black would hide it too much. Bit the bullet and ordered some Frando radial master cylinders from Venhill, should finish the bars off nicely.
  2. Clip ons finally came off the mill saturday Fit nicely and don't look too chunky They'll be finished off tonight, only the bolt holes to drill and tap. Should have them back from anodising on Thursday.
  3. Update tunerstudio and make sure you're on the latest firmware of ms2 extra. Id even re flash the ecu just to make sure you're on the correct firmware. These ecu's are real fussy on firmware.
  4. Its in, had to mill a bit of excess off the bottom of the turbine housing so it cleared the alternator but other than that it went straight in. The flange isn't threaded so it needed longer bolts and nuts but the gaskets I bought ages ago fit this housing so its worked out nicely. Also drilled the oil restrictir out to 1.25mm Finished the loom up, its a little messy but it works. If I've ever got too many hours to kill I might make another but do it a little differently. Primed the turbo with oil and cranked it over a few times to make sure I had oil getting to and returning from the turbo. Started on the button and idled lovely, just ran it for a few mins to warm it up and get some oil through the turbo. Rev counter on the clocks doesn't work so I need to look a little deeper into that. Clip ons are drawn up and were on the mill earlier, once they're done it'll be a test fit then anodise those and the yokes. Or MOT then anodise, depends how it falls and if there's an MOt slot available. Exciting times but I'm trying not to rush things and make a mistake.
  5. Had problems with mine missing the gap as the engine speed slowed on the compression stroke. Take the plugs out and see if it picks it up when cranking.
  6. I thought his had tubes going up to the headstock not box. Looks similar around the swingarm mounts though.
  7. Its turbo time!!! Back as it was, still some headroom on the current conpressor so no need to change it. The TT is gonna get in the way of fitting it but it'll still be here when I get back.
  8. Yea, will be giving universal turbos a call on monday, get them to rebuild it to suit the bike, possibly a compressor upgrade. Bit like I asked Owens to do but these actually rebuild it rather than saying the bits aren't available. Also my restrictor is too small, will be drilling that out a bit.
  9. Finally got around to calling Dave this morning, professional advice has been given, my errors have been pointed out and I have a clear way forward.
  10. Turbine housing arrived today, flanges are the same! Should fit without too much altering, only casting tolerances to worry about. Need to take 5 mins tomorrow to call Dave and ask about the oil feed.
  11. Cheers Fula. Seems good stuff at a quick look, some nice little touches where material has been removed for balancing compared to the originals.
  12. Got a little box of parts, weren't that difficult to get hold of. If I can use a vernier they should fit. Turbine housing should be here tomorrow. Don't think it'll fit the up pipe flange but it should only be a quick swap over.
  13. Thanks Viz, I'll give a call when I get 5 mins. I could do with knowing the oil pressure and flow requirements for the turbo as well. Ordered a .48 first thing this morning as I found a little info on a couple of people using that size for a 1k gsxr. No real info on how and when it boosted but I guess I'll go with this and find out, its been mapped using a .48 with a loose fitting turbine wheel and a cracked housing so it can only be better. @Arttu I've not found any turbine data, I've just been led to compressor maps. I'll get it back running with the .48 and see how it spools and when boost comes in. Cheers
  14. In the process of ordering parts for my turbo rebuild and as I need a new turbine housing I'm wondering if I should stick with a replacement or go a little smaller. Currently got a T3/4 with a .48 turbine housing and a .42 compressor housing. I can get a smaller .36 turbine housing but how do I work out the characteristics of each and decided which is best? Thanks
  15. Had the turbo report last week and its fucked, needs a new turbine housing and compressor wheel plus shaft. They can't get parts for this any more so they recommended a gt30 as a replacement. £1600 Not going to happen. Can find parts for t3/4 turbos and they're not that difficult to rebuild. There are companies that offer a balancing service so the turbo is on its way back to me and hopefully I can source the parts needed and rebuild it. Need to check my oil supply on the standard gsxr first to make sure its ok but I need to find out exactly what pressure and flow rate it needs.
  16. I've got a v3 that came with original firmware instead of ms2-extra and it caused havoc with the crank pick up. They seem to be fussy with firmware versions and tuner studio.
  17. Had an RF6 as my first bike so have a little soft spot for them. That looks ace though and I bet it surprises a few on the track.
  18. Ive got a full list of wiring inputs with descriptions for a microsquirt v3 if its any use to you. Can post it friday/saturday if it'll be any use to you.
  19. Only thing I've heard is dropping valves but my standard one has been fine. Think its only an issue over redline rpm.
  20. What he said ^^ Get them from any decent pc shop. Not pc world!!
  21. I use an atx pin remover, the side with the single blade wirks a treat.
  22. Probably the needle bearings in the knuckle, had the same thing on my rf6. You might need 3 people but you'll see the movement between the knuckle/dog bones/shock. Don't know if it'll affect handling but it'll need sorting. Not cheap bearings either.
  23. Thanks, been a long road but the end is in sight. Turbo is in the post, getting a report which should shed some light on why it failed then hopefully the parts are still available for a rebuild. Loom is out and covering off, just a couple of bits to tidy up then it can get re-wrapped and go back on.
  24. Bought one for my watercooled 1100, plus the other gearbox bearings. Just bought them from Robinsons and threw the invoice away quickly!
  25. Went up for an hour or so this morning, didn't see kev or paul and didn't hang around too long to be honest. Some nice bikes on display but its only a little show.
