  1. Haha, guru status.... Breather is nearly done, just got to make some hose onto the fitting. Runs better now too, didn't like starting or idling earlier in the week. Forgot how to link a vid on here...
  2. Got over my little tantrum and decided I really need to look at the bike. So I disconnected the breather from the wastegate and cleaned the turbo and exhaust out. No oil in the up pipe at all so its definitely coming from the turbo. Ran it up and its still a bit lumpy at low rpm but it runs. Oil pissed out the exhaust again. Checked the restrictor and its .75mm so thats fine, had a feeling I took it out to 1mm but obviously didn't. Took the filler cap off and put a bit of hose in it, cleaned the exhaust again and ran it, a lot less smoke and no oil out the turbo. I've got the bits to get a dash 10 breather on the clutch cover so I've got the hole drilled and the fitting ready to weld, just need some more cleaner to get the oil off.
  3. The original ecu was playing up and finally stopped responding so they gave me a price for fitting a new one. I'd had suspicions that the original ecu was faulty but I'd just put it down to being set wrong, something they could sort out. As I didn't want to be in the same position in a few months I thought it best to pay for the ecu to be fitted by professionals, rather than do it myself and risk it not working again. Why you'd leave everything hanging in the breeze whilst running it on a dyno I don't know, there's a lot of heat around there so I'd think wires and sensors everywhere would be asking for trouble. Especially on top of the turbo! As for sensors being moved, I'm sure it would've been easier to wire them where they were, they're all on plugs.
  4. Along with the breather and twisted sub frame yea. Maybe I was a bit quick to have a rant but its hardly surprising when I've paid out good money and receive the bike in that state. I'm still not happy with some things but I'll talk it over when I drop the bike back. Another 6 hour round trip....
  5. Spoke to them this morning, I think the breather and sub frame are a genuine mistake on someones part and the sub frame will be sorted. It does need to be removed again to mount the ecu which is why spacers are missing, its just been bolted up too tight. The lambda isn't mine, its an old one to fill the hole whilst it was being set up. Currently the ecu doesn't use a lambda but I'd rather it did and it can be wired to use it, there was no mention of it not using the lambda on the quote and the ecu does support a wideband lambda so I'd assumed it would be used. The moved sensors etc will be mounted but as its not fully set up they've left them loose for ease of access etc. I'm not sure on top of the engine is the best place and the extra tubing and wiring isn't going to make a difference. They were accessible before so I'm still not sure why they were moved. As I've paid all the invoice except final mapping I'd assumed the actual install would be completed. This isn't the case which I think is a bit confusing really, if the invoice had said the mounting of the ecu and sensors needed finishing I'd have expected it to look like it did. A lack of communication has caused most of this really and it could have been easily avoided. The most annoying thing is if the breather wasn't connected wrong it would be fully mapped, fully installed and I'd have picked it up saturday a happy customer. It's going back this saturday to be finished properly and should return looking similar to when it went.
  6. He'll be getting a call in the morning thats for sure. I've fitted the front end and fairing and got some pics so that should keep the insurance happy. Will take the fairing off now, make the call tomorrow and see where we go from there.
  7. True, guess I'll just clean the turbo etc out, maybe get another breather in there and send it back with fingers crossed. I'd like to strip it a bit more and see what else has been done but I don't think I should.
  8. I don't really know if I want to send it back, if they're happy letting this standard of work leave their workshop I'm not sure I want them working on my bike.
  9. The more I see on the bike to more pissed off I'm getting, I've paid professionals to do a job and I expect a certain standard of work to come with that. I don't expect to bike to be returned damaged. The map sensor has been moved and is just floating around on top of the engine, the boost gauge sensor is just haanging off the front of the bike, the sub frame has been incorrecly refitted with spacers missing and as a result has twisted, the ecu was hanging out the frame with no obvious way it'll fit anywhere near where the wires will reach, the lambda sensor has the wires cut off so is now useless and worthless, I've got a new fuse box floating on top of the engine when theres 4 spare spaces in the existing one. The list will grow I'm sure and a lot of the work done I'll have to re do, assuming the ecu will actually fit somewhere. If people can't or don't to do the work why don't they just say so instead of fucking up someones bike.
  10. Its home! Took me all of 10 seconds to see this Thats the only breather jubilee clipped to the waste gate! I'm sure it was a mistake but its a pretty big one. There's spacers missing from the seat unit mounts as well and its been put on funny so a few things to sort out.
  11. Yea I may have overlooked how important the extra breathers are, makes sense really especially with a fresh motor where I'll probably be getting a bit of blow by on the rings. Looks like I'll be bringing it home this weekend anyway, need to get some finished pics for the insurance. I'll pull the turbo etc and give it a clean out and check over then try it with the filler cap removed. Whats the opinions on catch tanks? Worth making one with a drain to the cases or just run hose and filters behind the fairing?
  12. Its only got the standard one on the cam cover at the minute, it does need another on the clutch cover but I'm unsure whether that would cause so much oil to come out the exhaust. Yokes are done though!
  13. It's more horizontal than vertical but its got a decent fall all the way. I flow tested the feed on my standard gsxr and its flowing about 2 litres a minute at 6-7k I think. The drain should take that, unless there's something else at play as well. Pic of the drain, thats quite a short pipe too.
  14. Id guess wsr will check that before pulling the turbo out. It is leaking even on tickover though. I bought it off a member on here a few years back and it hadn't long been rebuilt and had a carbon seal so it should be ok, unless its been damaged from being around the shed all that time. Trouble is the bike is a good 3 hours drive away so its not worth me bringing it home to spend a couple of hours looking over it, even going up there for a few hours is a full day plus fuel. I'll see if I can upload the vid John sent me.
  15. Its a -10 drain into the clutch cover so its big enough, the feed is supplied through a 1mm restrictor so its not getting too much oil. I did wonder if it was excessive crank case pressure but its leaking a lot of oil for that.
  16. Bit of an update, John has got it running nicely, to a point... Last week during mapping it started leaking oil from the hose feeding the turbo at 3-4k rpm so that was sorted and mapping continued this week. Next hold up is that oil is leaking out the exhaust. Not just blue smokey oil, it's literally dripping out the exhaust. As it stands its mapped up to 5k and its running real nice, idles smooth with good throttle response, picks up good etc. Just pisses oil out. So its back to wsr where they'll check it over, pull the turbo out, send it off for a rebuild or whatever is needed. Its getting closer....
  17. Sure I use 530 on mine, plenty of chain/sprocket options. Thing to watch on the Eblag kits is the front sprocket size, think the later covers accepted a bigger sprocket than the earlier ones. Thats why mine is 1 tooth down on the front...
  18. I've seen Hanma-shins tea maker then, warpspeed racing put it in a trick frame on wheels so he could move it around.
  19. Legend has it that Hanma-shin refused to bless the water cooled in-line four engine so it lacks the explosive power and durability of the in-line four Suzukis of the 80’s. I guess he doesn't like tea....
  20. Got an e-mail from John the other day, bike is (still) at Specialist Components for base calibrations. Once they're done and its running its back to John for tuning. No idea why this is taking so long...
  21. Maybe put a more specific location in your profile so members know if you're local or not. You're welcome to pull bits off mine if you're close by.
  22. I've been thinking about a 750 force fed kat, people don't seem to want 750s as much. Still quick, still cool and definitely different. Just need to find a half decent 750 kat...
  23. Cheers Ash, can't say I've been doing anything to the bike lately as I've not seen it for months! Just patiently waiting for some news of how its running.
  24. Correct. But you would need a bov after the turbo and before the tb.
