Check carb float needles and the seat o-rings for leakage. With pump off they should not leak with normal head of fuel.

They havn't leaked once since I started putting the bike together Months ago. I've done several carb rebuilds now. Seems strange they suddenly leak after getting stronger fuel supply. I will strip them again. Might have got a bit of swarf through when I fitted the bigger outlet.

It's possible that you've found the issue. If the in line pump is letting fuel through when it's off then it's unlikely to be able to shift sufficient volume when it's running.

Ah. I'll test it with a full tank when I've fitted a tap. (y)

  3. Anyone know if the electric inline pump will let fuel through when its not running? Carbs have held up for weeks til I fitted a 10mm outlet to the tank without a tap yesterday. Engine full of fuel this morning. Original tap was used in the prime position previously.

25mm ally angle from ebog, 15 quid, cut it to fit, enough to make top and bottom brackets. much cheaper than bought ready made ones.:tu

Exactly what I've just done. Think you meant 50mm @fatblokeonbandit Couple hours with a hacksaw and drill. :tu

When I had mine going I was running 2psi fuel pressure, for some reason the float needles started leaking after a while and had to drop the pressure to 1.5 psi.

I've had mine up to 3psi static with the carbs pulled from the rubbers to check for flooding. If it can't get enough fuel it probably wouldn't flood. Mind you. It was returning fuel to the tank so maybe.

On my turbo 11 when i did the clean up rebuild, i sold the stock tap because i didn't need it, and fitted one of those spigot set ups i showed you the other day.

    10mm spigot.

Like on my normal bikes i used a piece of fine stainless mesh to act as a tank filter

The electric pump couldn't draw enough through that, it was bottoming out, i figured that out because on test rides, i could only do an exact amount of meters before it stalled.

That mesh is sized around the same gauge as the plastic tap mesh filter, znd works fine on my normal Suzuki, but the electric pump was having none of it

Took out the mesh and put a car filter inline and that was settled

I made a spigot type as you suggested from thick alloy with a nitrile gasket. I've used 8mm spigot. Can change to 10mm if I still have problems. I was gonna ask for inline filter suggestions.

Float height, did you set all the floats at the same height, or did you adjust the fuel levels in the bowls?

Because if you just adjusted the heights of the floats, the fuel levels will be different..

    Believe it or not.

I set the float heights at 16mm as recommended by various guys on here. Apparently the pressure from the fuel pump and Pitot can put pressure on the floats so you need to compensate. Could be wrong.

    Damn, you were lucky one!

I ordered mine on 5th of july and he sent it on 18th of september. During that time he responded 3 times that it has been sent, but never provided tracking code. That was very strange behavior.

Communication with him is very minimal, sometimes it would take him a month to send response to your message.

    Did you receive it?

Stock tap is probably a good shout - if this is a Blandit then it only had to supply 120hp, GSXR's maybe about 180hp ! A Pingel will feed at least 370hp as i've done it. Venting possible but again std GSXR tank had no problems with previous noted supply. At 6000 you shouldn't be draining float bowls - what pump are you using? Dead head fuel or with return line? Pre or post carbs FPR position?

Don't GSXR have external tank vent? @Gixer146020231003_144715.thumb.jpg.46500d6fa48b13718742dfcfe516b27f.jpg

And use these inline valves with brass spigots :

This setup will outlast the bikes xD

Ah cool @Joseph That's an easy solution. Did the same on my other project where carb clearance was tight. Shoulda realised. What do you use for a gasket?

Yes is a Blandit. Couldn't tell you what pump it is, came with the kit :| You can hear the fuel returning to the tank. Malpassi FPR is plumbed as: Pump feeds FPR. FPR to carbs. Return to the tank via modified guage sender. Boost reference to carb top. Tried the pump pressure at 3 psi, same symptoms. 20231002_110955.thumb.jpg.87bea540e76f0e743a836c84e9fd6ca9.jpg

  12. Getting closer.

Restrictor sorted the oil supply, no more right leg covered in oil. Fitted 40 pilots which seems to have sorted the idle and part throttle bollox. Only real issue now before getting it on the dyno is it seems the fuel level can't keep up at 6000 rpm ish for about 1/2 a mile. Pull over and let the bowls fill up and its fine. Floats set at 16mm. Wondering if the pump can't get enough fuel from the tank at speed. Possible tank not venting or stock tap restrictive.
