I connected all 4 carbs tops to a manifold then used this to feed the boost gauge . It will pulse with just being on one especially on tick over.
I will try that. Thanks bud.

If does yes.

Off the carb top if you have bandit carbs,or the vacuum take off on tin top 34s as alternatives to the plenum.
Had it running today. Boost guage was going mental. Did you have to do anything to damp the needle @Paulm?

Couple turns and it fired up. Chuffed to bits. The whistle when slowing down is sexy. Now the fun starts dialling it in. Couple of issues. Won't idle without choke so possibly needs bigger pilots? Float heights are stock and not sure if raising/reducing them will help the idle. Anybody help?

Ah really? That would make life simpler. Thanks Paul.

Can do but the extra pipe air volume may slow activation of the gate - a short line to the gate is preferred so a separate guage line from plenum is usual choice!
Ta. I will fit a take off to the plenum. Every day is a school day.

Excuse me if it's a daft question, can I plumb the boost guage into the pipe from the turbo to the actuator? Or am I better off fitting a take off to the plenum.

This is my budget ish build. Bike including purchase has cost me £383 up to now, before the turbo kit was purchased. It is 100% mechanically sound, just looks like a shitter. Took me 45 mins start to finish to paint it which gives some idea if it's appearance. I'm not much of a bike cleaner these days so no shiny bits. My first time to turbo a bike. Got a van that's boosted which is wicked fun so a Bandit was always gonna be next. Always open to constructive criticism and advice.

Absolutely, as boost is applied to the float bowl and if fuel pressure doesn't track it, you'll run lean!
Makes perfect sense. Ta

Certainly either AFR or Boost guage will give more useful info whilst in use! A fuel pressure guage mounted after FPR can be useful initially but most will adjust so that floats don't leak without using a guage. Is this NA or Blown? If the latter, you will require a pump having potential for 120 - 125% minimum pressure to acommodate boost over base pressure don't forget!
Boosted yes. Correct fuel pump and regulator fitted. The Malpassi regulator has a boost reference port. Is it necessary for low boost applications?

Begs the question - why?
Dunno really. Seemed like the right idea. No guage needed anywhere apart from initial set up? How about AFR or a boost guage?
-
Looking for suggestions for a bar mounted fuel pressure guage. Only needs to read 2psi so 3 or 4 psi max?

No you can't ! If turbo centreline is anywhere close to oil level, no drainage would occur.
The Hahn Racecraft system was copied quite a bit back in the 90's but its a lot of faffing around to get the right thickness spring steel for the 'reed' and internal plumbing around the sump to get oil from turbo to pick-up. You'd either succeed or you wouldn't, and you'd normally find out with damaged bearings! Rule of KISS - use either electric or mechanical scavenge!
Thanks dude. Every day is a school day. Hooked by the bug now.
-
So could you return the oil via a fitting in the sump plug? Like a banjo fitting?

Looks very trick @clivegtoLoving the clutch cover.

You can get mechanical ones for end of crank.......
Can you make me one @Gsxrsam
My first dabble in turbos on a bike so keeping costs down for now. Made the mistake of putting a bigger turbo on my van Now I'm addicted. Slipperyslope. Love low end torque.

Thanks. It is an electric pump. So I could get away with mounting on the lower frame rail?
-
Spent ages going through search function but can't find good pictures. Looking for ideas to mount the scavenge pump. Looks a bit vulnerable mounted to the sump.

Don't forget @1260Pete1at Triple P for the budget option.

well the slave as its name implies only takes what it is given, so if the piston is pushing out too much, that would mean that its getting too much fluid/pressure ?
Maybe. It seems the piston has to travel to far before contacting the pushrod.

convert it to cable
Definitely approaching that. Should be simple to fix but I'm stumped.
