well the slave as its name implies only takes what it is given, so if the piston is pushing out too much, that would mean that its getting too much fluid/pressure ?

Maybe. It seems the piston has to travel to far before contacting the pushrod.

  2. The slave cylinder piston is pumping out too far on my Bandit 12. Thought I'd sussed it as the clutch that came with the engine was incorrectly assembled. Pushrods are correct. Fluid returns to the master cylinder fine. Any ideas?

If you fit a rose joint to each end, with the gear lever and splined thingy both set at the correct angle you can then measure between the rose joint centres for your specific application :).

Thanks Dezza. I'll do that. (y)

  4. Did the mk1 Bandit 1200 carbs have TPS? I assumed the carbs I have must be mk2 as they have TPS. The wire harness on the bike has a TPS plug so I assumed someone had fitted a mk2 harness. The bike was cheap and in bits with 10 previous owners so who knows.

Why not run an oil cooler. And then a head oil cooler upfront.

Hope you had a good drive back from mine today.

Was a lovely drive from your neck of the woods John. Good to meet ya.  (y)

  6. Is it possible to run 2 x 10 row coolers instead of 1 x 19 row cooler on a Bandit 1200? 19 row is a bit big to run under a front number board so thought I'd run one in the original position and one up front. Purely for looks. :$ It's not a Bandit frame. :P

  7. Just trying to decide if a 50000ml bottom end is worth putting a used barrel and pistons on. Got the bike very cheap for a summer hack. Exhaust ports are annihilated so took the head off with a view to putting a spare dot head on, and found rust in one cylinder. Is the mileage about it for a 12? Have to say the valve train looks in great nick. Opinions please.
