  1. I would definitely try to start it and at least warm it up while it's still complete. If possible ride a bit.
  2. Slingy 750L discs are 310mm as far as I can measure with the wheel still in the bike. 1st gen. teapot discs are not 290 but 289mm by the way.
  3. I have no idea, I've got only slingy wheels, one with teapot discs.
  4. I wouldn't be too sure about that, after all the GSX-R400 went for sale one year before the 750. Still nice pics of a nice bike in nice riding situations.
  5. just measured. Teapot discs on a slingy wheel are 7mm closer together than slingy discs on a similar slingy wheel. So the GSX-F discs are dished 3,5mm less than the slingy discs.
  6. Ah, a "plan". Yes Slingshot discs are dished, same amount as GSX-F discs I think. I can check later today at home.
  7. why do you want bigger discs? With the 290mm ones you can mount good calipers directly on the EFE forks, without any adapters. That's why I posted the link.
  8. http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/archives/336 have a look at this.
  9. Actually sometimes I come home in the evening and don't want to touch a bike. But those days are few and far between. Usually in winter the bike business is pretty quiet here in Lithuania, so we do a lot of modifying/fabrication in between playing ping pong. In summer I only ride my bikes and do not modify at all. But let's not hijack this thread too much.
  10. Fortunately I am in the position where I can be picky and tell people to f*ck off if I don't want to fix their bike. For example this morning a guy came, asked if I do engine work, of course I said "yes". He started talking about his H*nda VF750 and before he had finished I already told him "no". This way I make it a bit more interesting to do.
  11. I play mr mechanic with other peoples' bikes. And I get paid for it.
  12. paint the wire wheels white, everybody happy
  13. or use the 750 cable clutch actuation, on the clutch cover (right side)
  14. that said you might be lucky and find a cap from another head that "fits".
  15. you should always use the cam caps which come with the head. They are line-bored in the factory, a cap that is even slightly mismatched will screw it up and "lock" the camshaft.
  16. try www.motorcyclespareparts.eu
  17. I have an issue of Performance Bikes from 1992 with that second version of the 750 (the one with the white wheels) in a test. They got the bike from the official UK importer. And in all the factory brochures I have, only the other version is pictured.
  18. Hi, the 1992 GSX-R750 WN (first watercooled one) was available in blue/white, black/purple and black/grey. See pic. But there was also another blue/white version. Why two different blue/white paintjobs in the same model year? Confused.gif
  19. my '79 GS550E had points.
