  1. Yes mate. Getting out on my zxr in thunderbike sport
  2. Worth giving them a bell, see if they would let you run if your close to getting clubman. Robert Scott is pretty reasonable If you need another rider whos got a national i know someone. Haha
  3. Yeah but over 100 degrees and oil stops working, and past 115 it degrades and doesnt go back when it cools down. Oil in air/oil cooled motors still runs at pretty much same temp as water cooled bikes. Ie. Within the oils propper operating range.Thats why they tend to have higher oil capacity and lots of fins
  4. Yeah i bet there wasnt much difference between them. Have to run mineral or semi in these old motors or the clutch slips. I personally wouldnt want to be running my oil that hot, especially the hammer a turbo motor is getting. But i suppose what works for almost everyone else might not work for some.
  5. No it doesnt. Petroleum based oil starts to break down around 115-120 degrees and thats when its new. I wouldnt want to be running any semi synth above the maximum 100 degrees there designed to work at. Performance drops off rapidly after that.
  6. Strange as oil breaks down at that temperature. Somthing doesnt sound right there. Should be a good constant 80-90 degrees
  7. It was over 20bhp with just the basic fans in the dyno room blowing over it. 30bhp at 13psi. Likely to be a fair bit more on the road with more airflow
  8. Got celsius and farenheut muddled. However 82 degrees is about what engine oil runs at. Given that mine has been fine for 2 years and tons of people also been running them for years still camt see a problem I do speed trials, track days and loads of road riding, pump has been cock on. Its even melted where it came loose and sat on exhaust pipe and still works.
  9. Facet pump under the sump on mine too. Been fine for last 2 years. Cant see why oil temp would be a problem given that oil temp is well below what pumps rated at. Think oil will break down before its too hot for pump
  10. I found with mine theres big enough power increase even at 6psi for it to be worth it. You can get big car intercoolers for £50, cut in half and end cap welded back on and its still a sizeable thing. If you have space for one its not really much more expense or effort to do. And you have the bonus of it making higher boost more safely
  11. Intercooler makes huge difference. When mine was on the dyno added 25bhp when we ran it back to back but on 2nd run pointed both fans directly into it. Probably does even more on the move out on road. Also thinks its whats helped my bike make good reliable power on a motor with nothing but busa pistons and a lockup.
  12. Heats never been a problem with mine. Works fine
  13. I run a 230lph pump and a facet oil scavenge off a bandit 12 alternator with no problems at all. As do pretty much all bandit 12 turbo's Bandits have a pretty large alternator and it powers next to nothing in normal use.
  14. Shiny for the minute. Doubt will stay that way. Another thats been built to be ridden properly
  15. Just finished putting this together for my mate. Came out really nice. Spec is pretty impressive too. Just needs setup on dyno and some running in. Maxton shock and reworked forks Ebc race discs with Mv agusta 6 pots R1 rear caliper 17" slingy wheels Nicky Kennedy fresh built big bore motor with ported and flowed head, lumpy cams, pukka yoshi race system, dyna coils and mikuni 36mm flatties with bellmouths. Big cooler and seperat head cooler.
  16. Cut a big aftermarket one that was for a supra in half and welded the end cap back on, inlet and outlet pipes were moved too.
  17. Why not? Optical illusion. They are slightly flattened at the end too which makes em thicker too. Just clever engineering
  18. Few pics of my Spondon being used as it should be so far this year.
  19. No problem with my diaphragm one either Use a ducati 748/916 master cylinder for the lightest clutch ever.
  20. Cant remember. Measured it when was all in place. Put swingarm where it looked to be standard height and se rose joints to mid way position so i had plenty of adjustment either way
  21. Thats not what i meant. More power and torque due to bigger capacity. Has really good bottom end and mid range but not massive outright power. Really good flexible motor for power limited class. And solves heat issue
  22. 7.8:1 i think is what busa pistons in a bandit 1200 gives. Low compression is good for bottom end and midrange but not top end
