That's awesome. Might have to have a go at that myself.

Fitting bandit wheels to slingshot or vice versa. straight fit?
crashtester replied to boilerdude's topic in Oil Cooled
How wide is the rear wheel? I think the race ones are wider at 6", where as the road ones are 5.5". The race ones were lighter than the street ones. I like the look of them when they are anodised black. -
Went for a short ride on the RK today, for the first time in a long time. My knees are very unhappy.

Dymag will make any of their wheels in the standard fitment for just about any bike. As Dezza says, they come with their ow sprocket/cush drive on the rear. The front will be the standard disc bolt pattern and support the standard speedo drive. I think it is the same for other aftermarket wheel manufacturers like Marchesini and Galespeed, you can order then to suit.

TL 1000 R what to look for
crashtester replied to SiBag's topic in Water Cooled, V-Twins, Singles and 2-strokes
I loved mine. Had a full Yoshi system on it. Thought it was a great road bike, and I don't think the rotary damper was an issue on the road. I didn't have any problems with mine, up until the time that I rode it into the side of a car. -
I feel incomplete without a 92 tiger stripe model. One of my 3 slingshots, an 1100K, mostly standard.
-
I was told the Kawasaki's use a M8 mounting bolt, whereas the slingshots use M10. Haven't verified this for myself.
-
Hayabusa ones are the same.

You didn't mess around getting that done. Looks great. The Akrapovic systems sound really nice.

I never tire of looking at pictures of that TTF1 Heron Suzuki.

Does it still have the tank mount rubbers on the frame? I think on the 91 and 92 they are screwed on, whereas they are glued on with the 89 and 90 frames. The top shock mount is bolted on with the 89, so that is another thing you could look for. I think the subframe on the 91 and 92 models is different, but I'm not 100% sure and whether it's easy to pick in photos. Hopefully some else can confirm this.

I think only the 1989 K has the removeable mount, after that they were fixed.

Looks good. I like the traditional shaped mufflers. Are you fitting it in the standard position, or is the custom link pipe so that it can be place higher?

What colour is the bodywork going to be?

I would say that you would need the 1100 headers, as the 1100 engine is taller. Tried swapping an exhaust from my 750 to my 1100 and it wouldn't clear the oil pan.

Yes, works no problem. Have one on my mk2 engine.

Should I buy 1100M parts bike for my 1100k resto?
crashtester replied to Mackk's topic in Oil Cooled
Buy it, and restore that one as well. -
I dont know if there is much available for the slingshots. The bolt spacing seems different to most others. I'm interested if anyone else has any suggestions.

The EBC HH sintered pads are very good.

That looks like a Cleverwolf tail on that bike, rather than an RK.

I purchased a set of these: http://www.nkracing.co.uk/n16.html Listed for RGV, but works on the slingshots.

Yes, running a 180. Can't give you a direct comparison with a 160 as I upgraded the suspension and swapped the wheel at the same time. The combined changes were a massive improvement. If you source a 5.5 rear wheel for it you will also need the corresponding cush drive for the chain to clear the tyre, as the one on the K is a little narrower. Also get the torque rod arm as the K one will rub on the tyre, although I think some people just bend it to clear. The wider wheel will put the chain alignment out by 3.7mm (I think I am remembering that correctly), which you can get away with or get an offset front sprocket made. Also, the 180 tyre won't fit inside the hugger.
