  1. As long as you like them lol Your own words :-)
  2. On a mk1 it’s the same tap
  3. Robinsons foundry do brand new oem taps for £46 , it seems to be getting a common problem with bandit fuel taps
  4. It was someone in Greece selling them , I can't find the link anymore.
  5. Gilles ones are available for the bandit on Eblag
  6. Wasn't the 01 engine the one with piston ring issues ??
  7. As the title suggests what's the best for a road bike ? Linear or progressive fork springs ?
  8. Mk1 1200 bandit rubbers bolt straight on and hold the foam filters well. Mk2 1200 carbs are round so the airbox rubbers don’t fit on mk1 carbs very well
  9. Just swapped from rs38’s To 36mm cv’s and modded airbox on my 1216 bandit and i’m Really enjoying the smoothness of the cv’s . As a road engine the cv’s are nicer to use but I do miss certain elements of the flatties , namely to accelerator pump delivery. Someone has suggested 38mm cv’s as they have a similar set up
  10. A few hours on the dyno using the modded airbox and standard bandit carbs got me 148.3bhp and 95ftlbs with possibly a bit more in there with a bit more fettling
  11. Get your self onto any of the 15 bandit pages on Facebook or the bandit forum website. Bandits only seem popular on here if they are heavily modified or used as donor bikes to update some of the dinosaurs.
  12. Has anyone actually gone down the 1216,headwork, cams and modded airbox route ? Just curious to see if anyone has any settings
  13. Locktite and torque up as per spec. It's a rarity but has happened to a few bikes
  14. There’s been a few instances of these bolts working loose on bandits over the years
  15. My mates rsv tuono after being set up on slick bass's dyno with a power commander etc made 118 bhp which given its the same engine as the Mille would lead me to believe you've got a very optimistic dyno. 160 bhp usually involves a 1216 at the least
  16. It's not so much enlarging the hole as slotting it to rotate it anti-clockwise 4mm
  17. But, science aside. Is utilising the airbox going to to help or hinder my bike if I revert back to cv carbs ?
  18. It was just as you picked it up on the throttle coming out of islands, bloody annoying and couldn’t get rid of it. Still doesn’t alter its thirst or the marginal power difference between the two set up though
  19. Last time I used cv carbs on pod filters it was a 1157 all correctly set up on the dyno using 150 main jets and it was doing 121 bhp but was slightly hesitant between 3-4K and drank fuel if giving it the beans , on a modified airbox with perfect fuelling, good economy and 127.5 main jets it was doing 120.2bhp
  20. I'm just exploring a few options , my bike is a 1216 with a lot of headwork and gsxr cams , akrapovic exhaust . Currently I'm running rs38 carbs but occasionally have a hankering for the refinement of cv carbs , previously when it was a 1157 I've tried it as a stage 3 with pod filters and tbh I just never got on with them and they drank fuel for England when giving it the beans . I then swapped to a modified airbox and had the same performance but with better carburation and better fuel economy. How would a 1216 engine respond to cv's and a modified airbox ??
  21. 17.5 are the pilot jets , initially I'd try them with the recommended/ fitted main jets

  23. Google " factory pro carb tuning guide " the high rpm section. It may be that your pilots need adjusting
