Now tend to be regarded as a 1990s streetfarter cliche, in the same mould as knuckleduster shaped heel plates, old simpson bandits stuck where the headlight should be,  and 916 seats mounted at a silly angle :).

yep just like the GSXR fighter i built in the 90's  O.o  only their for show :$

ps, you forgot the twin headlights :D

Changed the the float valves twice. Genuine kit and tourmax kit, in both cases still leakage is present. So only the seats can be worn.

can't say ive ever had a problem with a worn seat as a new valve fixes the issue. but ive heard of people using some sort of abrasive or cutting tool to clean up the edges of the hole in the seat.  might be worth a try ?

I checked that the bandit 600 carbs can fit inazuma, however there are no such carbs in the good condition in the market. I could buy a crap for 150 euro here :(  The problem in my case is worn needle valve seat. While it is not replaceable, I don't know how to fix it :(

are you sure the seats are worn ?  the needle (float) valve has a rubber tip so generally its the tip that wears not the seat. have the carbs done a lot of miles ?

Any suggestions for which to buy or avoid?

we know OEM are probably the best if you can afford them :(  but their are some after market Japanese made parts that seem to be ok, but cant remember the name of them right now :/

    now plug #1 is black instead of 3 & 4. O.o

feck thats a strange one !!!!  is their any chance you have picked up some dodgy petrol and the valve tips have some crap on them ?

It's either that, Tones, or seized on the front studs that are exposed to all the flying shite! And, I don't fancy removing the studs ... too much to go wrong!

yeah your probably right,  plusgas and acetone is a good combination with a little help from a heat gun.

They’re so tight, I’ve had to strip the motor around them! 1127. I’m now left with the cylinders and the upper crankcase. The fuckers just won’t budge! When hit, they sound as if they’re part of the upper case. Any dodges to make them part company? Presently soaking in WD40. I want to avoid breaking any fins, as they’re in really good nick!

I think your gona need some heat Toni, might be seized on the dowels !!!!  can you remove the cylinder head studs ? it might help if you can get em out.

I'm having the same problem now with my B12 engine and carbs. Roll off the throttle, revs drop slowly. Snap it shut, all ok. With warm engine only. Had been OK for years but a few weeks ago this problem appeared.

Tried new spark plugs, a new throttle cable, no difference. Tried without throttle cable, no difference. Ultrasonic cleaned the carbs and reassembled carefully, no difference.

Now going to adjust the valve clearances (weather permitting, it's too nice to work on the bike, better go for a ride on one of the other bikes :D) and see what difference it makes.

it could be the float valve tips are slightly worn and weeping a wee bit, or maybe the O ring on the valve seat. ive seen the O rings go hard over time and start to crack.

I'm assuming the forks need to be removed to carry out any procedures when removing the anti dive units as the oil would just come out when you took them off ?

yes the oil will piss, but if you lay the forks flat then you can remove the unit, you could get a re-build kit from Suzuki once but they are no longer available :(  unless theirs an aftermarket kit out their O.o

  11. old thread resurrected, I did an experiment on my old GSXR1100 forks, took the anti dive off and made 2 blanking plates out of ally ( using a hacksaw a file and a drill ) :D  with no channel to link the 2 oil holes in the blanking plate the forks just lock up solid,  so you MUST link the 2 holes in the bottom of the forks. :tu

gs550 has 4 wires and doesn't fit the bandit top yoke any ideas to which 2 wires were not needed

does the 550 switch have a park position ? if so you won't need them 2 wires.  basically you have a live wire up to the ign switch and with the switch in the ON position you should have live coming out of the switch.   thats how my 750 is wired :tu
