So, this exhaust is from smaller bike.
yep thats what im thinking !!!! I know the gsx750 and gsx1100 are the same, so i would of thought the gs1000 would be very similar ??????

I think i'd go with a sleeve on the 1100 engine. then the frame is still standard.

are you sure the exhaust is for a GS1000 ? from the pic's it looks more like a GS550 !!!!!

If you come across a piston that just won’t move, take the Cali per off the bike. Find a lever type grease gun. Remove the nipple end of the gun. Screw the gun into the calliper. Carefully! Pump. Even the most stubborn piston will hoist the white flag, and meekly come out into the light! Nothing can withstand that pressure. Just sayin’.
thats a good idea Toni

so if ive read it right ??????? they are out about 10mm ish ? if thats all then i'd be doing a bit of pulling and pushing to get them lined up. done this before with no issue. I tried a set of bandit headers on my GSX750 and needed to pull the pipes in a bit to get them in the ports but the collector didn't clear the sump

its ok guys, ive spoke to my mate and he'll be off back to work soon for another month , so he'll take the ones I made and give em to his mate who'll make em out of stainless.

if you put a volt meter on to the starter wire bolt and see if you get full battery voltage, if not its the starter relay or a bad connection.

Yes the mk1 front wheel wheel catches on the nk2 forks. Its OK without the speedo drive.but then there's a large gap and no speedo drive. Looking around a mk 2 wheel is cheaper than M1 forks so I'll try that the the nk2 wheel have a different speedo drive.. This bike cost wise is getting out of control.
Thanks
the mk2 uses a speed sensor on the front sprocket cover as the clocks are electronic, but the mk2 wheel has the cut out notches so you can use a mk1 speedo drive

Ta just having a go at making some bits myself. you can buy the brackets to fit but only cost a few quid to make these
always better if you can make the bits you need than buying them if you can, doesn't matter if they are better or not , its the personal touch

Yeah the 1100/1200 are about 15mm taller than a 600.

Thank F for that, otherwise every intelligent bastard would do 'em.
I couldn't help myself when i had the bandit and the katzuma i built
but the ET 1100 is a tad longer and quit a bit heavier so not so much

wheelies are not big and not clever

ive swapped the exhaust systems over on my GSX1100 and GSX750 with no problems, maybe just a slight mod to the hanger.

as Clive said has it had a good service history ? has it been thrashed and abused ? saying that they are a strong motor. 60K is not high mileage for them. if its cheap enough buy it

Ive drained countless engines of their oil Joseph and that is pretty normal.
