I had a bandit cooler that was cracked in the same place as yours and it never leaked (replaced it eventually) but looking at your pic it looks like the crack has reached the O ring surface !!!!!!

they can get damaged by stones off the road, I'd clean up any trace of oil and run the engine till you see where its weeping from.

2006 is the last (i think) of the GSX750F and is an oil cooled bike. I wonder if someone has fitted a fan ? if so their must be a switch somewhere ????

im sure a specialist could repair it but at a high cost, better to find a good used one.
-
what size carbs are you using ?
-
if it helps, I used a set of 32mm carbs off a GSX750 (1980) on my GSX1100 (1983 engine) as a temporary measure till I sorted the 34mm carbs out. and it ran good with no carb mod's !!!!!

the side plate that slides onto the 2 pins on a soft link should be a tight fit (it has to be forced on) unlike a split link where the side plate just slides on and then held in place by the clip. but saying that their are split links where the side plate is also a tight fit. does that make sense ?

can you rivet a drive chain by hand with a hammer and punch?
you can use a hammer to peen the end of the pin over but you need to support the other end of the pin as it will just slide through the chain link.
the end plate on a soft like should be a tight fit on the pins, so it only needs a small amount of peening to hold it in place.

Gsx engine is a nicer looking engine by far, and also fits in the frame properly
yep i agree Joseph
I did for a nano second think about swapping out the gsx engine for an oil cooled one but saw sense

nothing wrong with a standard B12 engine, good power and fast enough on a bike with no fairing and reliable. its not all about big power and silly speeds its about posing on a nice looking bike

its a shame the bandit gets a bad press
they are a great bike and fun too ride. the frame is stiffer than a gs/gsx and with good suspension they can handle good. ok the seat unit is not the best looking part of the bike but that can easily be changed
ive had a few and loved them

nice
had a black one years ago.

Its only going to be temporary. Have a clock set from an 1100m somewhere
Just wondered if it would work till i have the cover off again
don't see why not !!! I used bandit clocks on my ET for a while, just wired the pulse wire that goes to the CDI to a coil.
-
you can use an electric tacho but you will need to wire it into an ignition coil.

when i built my zed with a B12 engine i found an airbox that slid in the gap between the carbs and frame, the rubbers where not in line so cut a sheet of ally and made holes for bandit rubbers, then glued it to the box with the help if a few screws. then its time to get the air flow right after a few road tests
not a great pic of it though !!!!!!!
