Isnt the construction more important than thickness?
it does make a difference if its done right.

I set the butterflies up on the bench first, open the idle screw a fare bit so you can get a thin drill bit under one, then set the rest the same. then you can do them on the bike with the gauges. (dont forget to adjust the idle screw before starting)

I tend to over engineer stuff so I would go thicker !!!! I don't worry about the weight of things

Anyone know if the bandit rear grab rail for the pillion will fit... mine has a rack on which im going to remove so need the stock rail.
mk1 bandits have 2 either side but the mk2 is one piece, don't know if it'll fit though. ?

Is it worth a try removing the bungs? Would that even work? In case that drilling between the main and pilot is blocked?
I wouldn't remove the bung but not sure on the effect if they are removed ? I have a set of carbs from a 1979 bike and they have a threaded screw instead of a rubber bung, my guess is it would be cheaper to use a rubber bung than a steel screw. the drilling between the main jet and the pilot jet is easy to get to and clean out if its blocked.

That's awesome! Out of curiosity, what are the small black rubber bungs for that sit in the bottom of the pilot jet hole?
not sure about your carbs but some have the pilot jet tube plugged as the fuel will come up through the main jet tube as their is a drilling that goes from the main jet tube to the pilot jet tube. it that makes sense to you

yeah it looks like a 600 bandit to me

the bandit pipes run from the carbs, over the top of the airbox and down to the bottom of the back side of the airbox.

sounds like a dry/noisy bearing !!!! when I got my 83 GSX1100 engine it had a slight whine (nowhere near as bad as the video) and that engine had been sitting a long time. but after a few 100 miles its now quiet. have you got a mechanic's stethoscope ? great for pinpointing noises.

So i don't have to plug them or connect them to a closed circuit ?
it depends on the bike, some go to the airbox and some just vent to atmosphere, ( like bandits)

Digging this up but it illustrates my question perfectly
On the last photo, at the back, the left hose is the petcock vaccuum, right hose the fuel intake.
What are the two hoses for on the front, stemming from carbs 2 and 3 ?
vents

That’s what I always expected but it’s good to have proof not suspicion.
What are the differences ?
Footpeg hanger mounts ?
Swingarm pivot diameter ?
Lower engine mounts ?

Suzuki isn't a big company like the others so they build to a price, all good for us as parts are more interchangeable

Nice an 1100 it is then.
whats the plan ?
i bought a 750ET and fitted an 1100 engine in it. exhaust fitted easy but had to use the 32mm 750 carbs till i sorted a set of 34mm 1100 carbs out.

the big kwaka 6 pots are meant to be good, i know a few lads who have fitted them to busa's because of the spongy problem on the suzuki. i looked into it and it turns out they use different seals. I fitted a set of kwak seals to a busa once as the customer asked me and low and behold they blead up no problem and not spongy !!!!!!!!!!
