  1. You can always use a gsx box section alloy arm. They used to be the upgrade back in the day and look pretty cool too. Plus you can put wider rims on those spoke hubs! You can get a 5 inch rim on a z900 rim for example. Not sure about the Suzi ones.
  2. I did mine a couple of inches. Not was drastic as some.
  3. Why do you think they are beyond saving? Unless they are bent or have body damage, pretty much everything else is rebuildable and available.
  4. Yes - please do but I think I might just go make-your-own route. Trouble is I'm not great at soldering...
  5. Okay - I can now confirm that the push cable from an 1100WN-WS is actually an inch shorter than the EFE one!
  6. Hope you bought post 2007 frame? ULEZ compliant!
  7. I'm going to try a GSXR1100W return cable then and see if that works - only a tenner on Eblag.
  8. I didn’t think of that. However I’m using a GS switch and tube, not the EF one and the switch casing is different.
  9. It’s hard to measure with the 90 degree bend in it but I reckon 38 1/2 inches. So need one that it 39 1/2 or 40. That is the length of the cable not the sheath. The length of the sheath is 32 1/2 inches
  10. Only about an inch - the revs climb when I turn the bars left, so not much longer at all. I did have it routed so it worked but I can't make that happen now.
  11. Before I send Venhill Cables 60 quid, does anyone know an off-the-shelf throttle cable that fits the EFE but is about an inch longer? GSXR cables are different at the throttle end and GS cables are different at the carb end. Thanks, Jonny
  12. Yup! I went and bought a cheap Gen 1 Busa 2 years ago. Sits next to all the bikes I’ve poured £££ into but for cheap rideable power, it’s untouchable.
  13. You can have a few mill shaved off the sprocket face to get it to work. You are probably already using an off-set front sprocket, right?
  14. Well the engine is back together now with a new head gasket (and base gasket) and I’ve cleaned everything up so we’ll see. When I was cleaning up the other pistons I noticed some very small but similar marks on two of the other pistons. Wasn’t visible until I cleaned the carbon off, so I’m going to discount a foreign object in the chamber as a cause now.
  15. I use a large set of circlip pliers and an old rubber glove. Grips the inside of the piston and twists out. Works every time!
  16. Yes there are marks on both sides although worse on the exhaust side. The piston shows matching damage but much less
  17. All the other pistons and parts of the head seem fine. The engine is a 1230cc so not stock. There is far more carbon build up on the other pistons. Might be worth saying that the reason the engine is in bits is I had a leaky head gasket and that is the cylinder that oil was leaking into.
  18. Yes there are some corresponding marks on the piston
  19. If not clear I’m talking about the dimpling at the top above the valves.
  20. Same here. I think it depends what you are buying. I have a '75 Harley 2-stroke and picked up 2 original mint condition wheels from them for £100 each!
  21. Thanks all. I phoned the guy at Suzuki Performance Spares, as it arrived today and he said dry too.
  22. ...by putting the engine in a GSXR750 frame!
  23. I'm replacing the head gasket on my EFE with a fibre one. I have the factory manual but it doesn't mention their usage. I think they had MLS gaskets anyways. So my question is should I use a sealing compound with the fibre gasket or not? Thanks, Jonny
