Chadillac Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 Ok guys so today I sold the frankenbike to free up some funds for the the turbo project. New 16/43 JT sprockets on the way along with 150 link chain. Noticed while looking at turbos again that the td04hl-16t comes with two options... Straight flange and angled flange. Thought I read somewhere along the way that the straight flange is the one. Can anyone confirm this? Just want to check before I pull the trigger on a rebuilt one. Thanks in advance- Quote
Chadillac Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Other option right now is a Garrett t25 (60 trim) that my buddy has with internal gate. Compressor housing is .48 a/r and turbine housing is .63 a/r. Can anyone advise if this is something worth using or better off with a td04/5? Quote
clivegto Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 The one I run on my bike is a tdo4l. Quote

Doesn't sound to 'out of the ballpark' - got to be worth a try? Worst case scenario is you'd have to change some flanges to fit a TD04 or adapt them (they aren't that much different) Quote
no class Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 t25...….2554 or 2560 ? both good for 200+ hp but max out 250-270 . @leblowski has used both the tdo4 and 2560 on his bikes I believe.....he would be the best to ask for a direct comparison Quote

Chadillac Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 Alright so I decided to be a little different and go with the Garrett. Spent some time in the garage last week so making progress.. Got the motor out and gonna be working on that this weekend hopefully. Quote

TDO4L turbo making 260hp at 16psi. Would like to know more about this setup, I have been thinking along the same lines. Where did you get the Spacer plate ? Quote
slabbyfaceddean Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 What about a smaller turbo to limit lag ? Quote

Where did you get the Spacer plate ? What else do you want to know. It has a electric scavenge pump for oil return from turbo. Electric fuel pump under the seat with a fuel regulator. Also has 1mm oil restrictor in oil supply to turbo. I also have a flowed big valve head with 1100f cams fitted. Couple of pics of bike as it stands at the moment. 2 Quote

Chadillac Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 Did make a little progress on the motor. Got the head off and cylinders out for re-bore. Glad I had a second head because the original head looked like it had been bashed with a hammer or dropped. Waiting for powder coat stuff to come back (rims, fork lowers, clamps, etc..) while I polish the swingarm and some engine covers. Should be able to do wheel bearings and rebuild forks next week- then have a rolling frame again soon! Progress is slow but I want it done right. 2 Quote

Chadillac Posted July 8, 2019 Author Posted July 8, 2019 Alright finally parts are back!! got all the bearings in and forks rebuilt. Also did a shotgun tail-light kit from powerbronze which looks awesome. Rebuilding the calipers now and waiting for new rotors while tinkering with the motor. Busa rods are in! That’s about it for today. 2 Quote
Chadillac Posted August 7, 2019 Author Posted August 7, 2019 Little bit at a time. HD studs on the way, brakes rebuilt, drag bars on. Did I mention busa rods are in?! Super excited about that. Cylinders next. Quote
