Wagola
Hi All, Will a set of Bandit 1200 cams fit into a Slingshot GSXR1100 engine ? Looking at getting a spare set of cams to re-grind and not many GSXR1100 cams seem to come on to the market. Advice appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to comment
clivegto
Yes they will fit you just need to change the cam sprockets over. Quote Link to comment

As 1100k/l are screw/locknut and 1100m/n are shim heads. If 11m/n,then b12 cams won't fit Quote Link to comment
Wagola
Hi Del, Its an L model engine with screw/locknut valve adjustment. That's why I thought the bandit cams might fit. Quote Link to comment

clivegto
No but as I said just swap them over. Different types of cam chain. For better results get them slotted & daile them in. Edited October 23, 2017 by clivegto Quote Link to comment
Wagola
To be truthful it was the slotted sprockets I was after as well. There's a set on Eblag from a bandit with slotted sprockets. I guess these won't fit a say what now!? ? Quote Link to comment

Bandit cam sprockets are no good for a gsxr engine as the chain and crank sprockets aren't compatible. Quote Link to comment
Wagola
Hi Dupersunc, Thanks for your reply. Looks like I'll be looking for some GSXR1100L cams to get reground and then some slotted sprockets to suit. cheers 1 Quote Link to comment

So bandit cams fitted with gsxr sprockets will work fine. Quote Link to comment
Dezza
Won't fitting the Bandit cams reduce the power of the GSXR motor? Or maybe more grunt lower down the rev range is needed? Quote Link to comment
August17
Anyone know of a tool that will rivet a morse master link on a 1200 bandit camchain Quote Link to comment
dupersunc
I believe Ray Debben has the kit to do this. Quote Link to comment
