  1. I'm replacing my exhaust camshaft next oil change ,has worn one lobe like the inlet cam did 10,000 km ago.its a mk1 1200 bandit with 65000 km on the clock, don't want to loose low down power but a little more up top would be good. Has anyone fitted the exhaust cam from a mk2 and dyno ed or noticed any difference in power? Mk2 suppose to have a bit more hp and torque than mk1. Anyone run a stock mk1 against a stock mk2 in a race ???
  2. Had a problem with my 1200 bandit carbs kept fowling one plug, worked out in the end the fuel bowl gasket was letting fuel into the motor bypassing the pilot jet, the circular part of the fuel gasket had very fine markings showing were the fuel had been bypassing across it,new gaskets on each carb and it was a goer
  3. You can buy the jets from go cart shops and the washers from suzuki a cheap mod that works well
  4. If you own a mk 1 1200 you might like to check out "krazy eds cv carb extra 20 hp" I have done this to my 1999 bandit using a delkavic can with the baffle out and original link pipe 20,000 km ago and It gets the old girl going no flat spots and idles smooth . Advancing the timing 4-5degrees sharpens the throttle response to, there is dyno charts showing these mods just "google "
  5. I put a 5 1/2 spal fan on my bandits original oil cooler and a oil filler plug temp gauge. The temp gauge will read 120c on a warm day city riding ,switch on the fan and it drops back to 100 or so.there was a yoshi gsxr 750 that came standard with a head cooler google yoshi gsxr 750 head cooler I did read something about it a while ago
  6. Google, suzuki parts monster ,when you find your part/s click on ,were used, it lists models your parts are used in
  7. The chain has plenty of lube ,always lubed up it has had the noise since I brought it 22000 km ago now has 63000 Kim's on the clock, doesn't make the noise in other gears and I can take of with out it making a noise if I slip (ride) the cluch, makes me wonder if it isn't a clutch shudder but there's no feeling of a shudder just the sound . I'm the 3rd owner and we are all over 50years old last owner was over 60 ,bike was bog stock and very unlikely to have been abused, any one heard maybe of the clutch basket nut coming loose???????
