OK so i have a K7 front end now but the stem is 28mm that doesn't leave a lot for A bearing in the GSX head. Need to check with bearing specialist. getting there.

Its 28mm where the stem nut fits but are you sure its the same where the bearing sits and not 30mm ...?

I used this on a GSXR 1000 front end ....Balls Bearing.JPG

I just bought one too. Just over £20 delivered nexxt day. 30mm i/d x 47mm o/d I think. Seems like Marksman Bearings are the only source in UK

If you had SRAD yokes in there before its the same bearing

Thanks guys. Interesting thread and some good info.

I wasn't expecting later front ends to have a compatible stem length with the older frame.

Anyone know which other fit or I can find a list of stem lengths.

Thanks.

Hey Tony, I've got a set of those Allballs bearings (99-3540-5 and 99-3517-5) sitting here from my aborted watercooled project - was going to be K7 forks into WN, but I think the bearing outers are the same size between GSX and WN GSXR

Edit, looking at my invoice and the all balls spreadsheet, I suspect I may have ordered the wrong one in 99-3517-5 - will have to check that out. Definitely have the 99-3540-5 though.

type the bearing size into search box on egay  50% cheaper,  several bearing suppliers now stock them as popular size.

I couldnt find any tapered bearings. Plenty of ordinary bearings though

CH i just looked and Pyramid list on there @ £10.49 each

After the experience I just had with fork seals from Pyramid, they can go fuck themselves.

Yep you are right though it doesnt show if you put in 30x47 bearing. You have to search for 30x47 bearings.

Cheap too. Damn!!

Next time.
