Engine mounts

I've got a mk1 bandit 1200 engine going into a 1985 gsx1100efe frame. I've seen its been done lots of times on here so wandered if anyone can point me in the right direction for engine mounts.

I've found a few old posts but the links no longer work.

Thanks.

Post back when you've found them and i'll tell you what needs altering for them to actually fit correctly as the drawings are slightly off

I found an article with drawings for the gsxr engine but not the bandit engine. Still looking.

So; firstly the 2 weld in bottom mounts need to be made 2mm longer than the original drawing shows(so 48mm NOT 46mm). The allows for variance between frames and theyre very seldom still exactly as they were when they left the factory. You might need to dress them back but 2mm is the best starting point.

The removable mount above the clutch needs to be made 10mm shorter than the original drawings show, first bend the be done as per the drawing and the second bend obviously 10mm further back. (Overall length when its bent up and braced needs to be 62.5mm NOT 82.5mm)

The other 3 types of plate are accurate

I must've done 30 sets of these over the past few years so I know what works and what doesn't

Amazing. Thanks mate. I'm gonna hunt around for a machine shop to make them unless you know anyone who does this.

Can you weld?

As the bottom ones need welding on and you don't want to have engine mounts held on with pigeon weld ;)

I also thought Grumpy 1260 did them O.o

Give me a few days, I'll see about getting a batch made again if there's demand for them. With mods permission of course

That would be amazing. Let me know if you do as I'd definitely buy some.

the easiest  way is to remove the sump of the engine, place some 3mm plate under the engine sump and on top of the frame downtubes. then shim up the engine until the sprocket is aligned and in the correct place. (check tony foales book on chasis design for some pointers on this, but this is absolutely crucial) then fit the down pipes and carbs/ tank etc to make sure they fit and clear everything.

then you can measure up the mounts.

i contributed drawings to the site about 15-20 years ago, they are in the vault somewhere for fitting a gsxr engine to a gsx frame, but given the production tolerances of 80s jap frames , i would measure what you have, with the engine you have , to be sure it will fit.

@perryhany luck with the engine plates yet

Its in the pipework mate. Davecara is just getting the wheels in motion to produce a batch.
