Truls Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Anyone thats have a idea of size return tank? I have top bike mechanical pump, 1mm restrictor to turbo, but have problems evacuate oil in higher rpms. Currently tank is 55x55x35mm should i build bigger? Quote
peter1127 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) I have a aTD05-16G without restrictor, and the it drainsinto the top of the catch tank. In your case it enters at the bottom with a bend which has some restriction. Tbh it looks like it should work but still it has a little bit more resistance then draining completely free. Also I dont see a breather? Edited May 27 by peter1127 3 Quote
clivegto Posted May 27 Posted May 27 This is one I got of Tomasz Piotrowicz the Polish guy that does the turbo stuff on FB it's only 40x40mm. 2 Quote

Gixer1460 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) Can't imagine that bottom fitting is going to have a long life ! ! ! Or the tank come to think of it! Edited July 5 by Gixer1460 Quote
Reinhoud Posted July 5 Posted July 5 (edited) Should hold the contents of the turbo and the feed line. Put a check valve in the feed line. I made my catch tank bigger a couple of times, turned out the oil feed line syphoned the oil out of the sump. Edited July 5 by Reinhoud Quote

Also I dont see a breather? I found i did not need breather. Biggest issue is the residual pressure when engine off, check valve in feed line works a treat with decent sump. I lashed plastic bottle on bottom and watched it tunning and stop and start to work out required volume also found I could reduce my restrictor to .8 but have roller bearing turbo. 1 Quote
