Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Has anyone done this and is it a straight swap or anything need altering, ta Quote
Gsexr Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 it,s just a newer 7/11.............7/12 i would think it,s just a sump swap as it my be too low once the exhaust is fitted....... Quote
Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 so would a 750m sump fit or do I need one off something else Quote
Jinxy Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 750m frame is the same as 1100m frame, 1200 just drops in. Sump will only (might only) need changing if you use a 750 exhaust system. Quote
Jaydee Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 If you are swapping around sumps, remember to use that sumps oil pick ups too. Quote
Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 will get some 12 headers so should be ok there then, do you have to drill engine mounts at back thought I'd heard that but can't remember now Quote
Captain Chaos Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 yes, 750 has 10mm lower engine mount, 1200 has 12mm 1 Quote
Jaydee Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 will get some 12 headers so should be ok there then, do you have to drill engine mounts at back thought I'd heard that but can't remember nowThe 12 motor has an M12 bolt, the 750 has an M10 mount. You can drill out the mount to M12. Or you can sleeve the 750's M10 bolt with some 12mm o.d. pipe to get a snug fit on the engine. The latter option means you wont end up with a weakened set of mounts. Quote
Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 latter option seems the more sensible then, cheers Quote
Big-D Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 You'll not end up with weakened mounts boring 2mm out lol Quote
Jaydee Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Come to think of it, it was the bandit 6 frame that has weedy mounts, when adding an11 or 12 motor. Still a better job sleeving the engine bolt though. Quote
Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 The 750 is stopping as it is, got another frame for a build and a b12 engine sat about so makes sense to use it Quote
Gsxr750m Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Also has anyone used 38's off a 750m on a b12 with pod filters got a set of them I could use Quote

Oliekoel Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) friend of mine did it and provided a pic(lambda, for the dutchies amoung us) only thing i wonder, is this the same for the 1250 versions? (fit in frame/boltsize difference) Edited July 9, 2015 by Oliekoel Quote
kokolis Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 The 1250 bandit wc has an entire different engine, nothing to do with oil-cooled Quote
