Complete Rewire

Thinking about having  complete rewire on GSX1100 1980.

Bike runs great and been set up on Dyno , but wiring is letting it down, 

Any recommended competent people on here with the skills to take it on???

I can (Birmingham), @davecaramay be able to fit it in (Birkenhead) or Rupe's Rewires in Peterborough. There will no doubt be others, but those are the three I know do a good job.

Edited to add that there's a guide price page for looms on Rupe's Rewires that's very good in terms of likely cost and what's involved. I would suggest it's pretty much accurate for whoever would do the work unless you have a mate and get it at mate's rates.

It's the sort of work that books up quite a way in advance, more so if they only do bike looms.

Unless you have very deep pockets, DIY. Just replicate the original wiring. All the tools and materials are freely available and you aren't going to get stung for a grand+

Not any more, spoke to him last week and again fully booked until November at earliest.

works from home now and collects and delivers bikes that he’s got booked in.

looks like I will be doing it myself if it’s to be done sooner rather than later

Yep, no such thing as a cheap job. Electrical work whether it's fault finding and repair or making a loom takes time and you've only got to look round at hourly rates to see how quickly that adds up.

The other thing is if it's not up to spec then you may get stranded at the side of the road, if you're lucky ,if not you may watch your pride and joy smoulder and not in a sexy way... If you do it yourself do some homework and ask the questions,
