All compatible rims for a 1979 gs1000

What all do I need to do

B6 wheel, new spacers, chain run and swap rear brake. 

Have a look through the project pages as it's been done many times or someone who has done it maybe a long.

Usually spacers.

For the simple ones 

You say you want wider so I presume you will be going to 17 inch?

Then it will be how wide.

160 is fairly straightforward.

Probably just spacers and narrow chain 530 or less.

180 and your into a bit more work.

Usually for front end easier to go for complete front off something

Then it is just a matter of sorting steering stem and bearings.

Use your own stem pressed into new set of yokes (triple tree)

You could always buy some GS spokies and have wider rims laced on!  That would be very cool!

5.5'' , but with this you need an offset sprocket, anything wider you need to modify the frame

look for the back wheel from a 400 katana. theyre the same snowflake pattern on the spokes, but are much wider than stock, still 17 inch but tubeless,  lighterthan stock and absolutely identical in style to stock. now you may need to mess with bearings spacers etc, but once its done, youll never tell that its not stock aside from the wider tyre.

Which Katana 400 is that, the old GSX400F or the later GSX400S ?
