Busa swingarm on 1100w

Any one got any input?

Was thinking of putting a hayabusa swingarm on my 1993 1100w

Is it hard or easy?

Dropin or modify everything?

Dragracing would be the purpose!

I’m guessing you’re going to run extensions?  Plenty available for the Busa but the arms are pretty heavy with the big ugly casting.

Yes! extensions will be used.

Bought a swingarm (08-14) with extensions for cheap 

so cheap i got it before caring if its doable or not

weight not so important  (fixed index class)

but i agree it a big ugly lump... but i doubt it vill flex much.

Surely if you already have the arm, then the best way to see if it works is to try it?

But from memory you will need to sleeve the gsxr pivot, and sort out some dogbones. (and offset sprocket if you are using busa wheel)

Cant remember if the shock lines up or not.

it's quite easy, i've done a mock up of a mk1 busa arm on a W frame

pivot width is comparable.

use the W roller bearing sleeves pushed into the busa sleeves (retaining the original larger Busa bearings)

swap out and use the W crush tube spacer to go inbetween the pivot roller bearings.

you will need a GSXR K1 knuckle

you will sort out custom dogbones according to what you need in ride height

and lastly you will need that CNC knuckle offset mount that @Danm54is known for 

W frame needs drilling to secure that CNC part due to the exhaust support points not being in the same place on the frame as the oil cooled bikes

thats the full extent of the job

Did you use the bolts for the knuckle from the gsxr slingshot or hayabusa for the swingarm dog bones point/knuckle? Looking to do the same conversion myself

Picture of my work in progress, stretched by about 6" by cutting the ends of a 2nd arm and welding it back together using solid billet slugs in between the two halves.

adjustable dog bones made up and one of Dan's bottom mounts, without this mount the suspension was so stiff it hardly moved!

6" wheel and 520 chain used to get more clearance.
