Duckndive Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Rupperton will do it if you badger him enough.... As would Dave Branch Phil Crossley on Faceache does his own cranks "maybe worth a message" My Applebee Crank 5hat itself .... 1 Quote
imago Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Getting a crank done by Roger Upperton (or other race builders) can get expensive. His rates are good, but he checks them properly so ends up rejecting quite a few and frequently building one from several to get it right. I have one here in an engine I had from @busa ashand I'm sure he said it took three or four cranks to get one built. That's great if you're building an engine for racing/thrashing, and it's the only way to do it if you're putting your name and/or a guarantee on it. However if you want an engine for 'normal' road use, ie how Suzuki intended, then it makes it a very (possibly unnecessarily) expensive approach. 3 Quote
dynodave Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 Unfortunately with SEP now closed, I think there are only race builders left.... It looks like Dave Branch will be doing mine. Grumpy 1260 uses SEP so he now needs to find a new builder too. Dave Branch or Chris applebee were his suggestions. 2 Quote
Reinhoud Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Does a GSX crank fit in a GS crankcase? If yes I can do it, but the postage will make you cry Quote
Reinhoud Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 It's not hard to do yourself, you need a press and a copper hammer, 2 dial indicators and a lot of patience Quote
