Efe tank rusted out

Hi all, quick question, has anyone ever swapped the tank on an efe for another from another model. Mine is full of pin holes after cleaning and may need replacing. The whole bike is coming apart over winter so I’d consider some of the early gsx1100 tanks. Many thanks

Nah! I’d try to repair or source another OE tank. It’s part of the  EFE ‘look’.

Agreed. Unless it’s a chop or a real mutant the tank is a big part of the bike blunt brute look.

As above, plus the ET/EX tanks are getting harder to find and very spendy when you do.

How bad is the rust in your tank. Pinholes can be closed up quite easily with solder and then some tank liner to finish opp.

Thanks for the help, I’ve decided to repair the tank I have , I’ve cut out both sides and made two new strips to weld in place . It was only the very bottom that was bad so not such as bad as I initially thought.
