Jonny
I'm replacing the head gasket on my EFE with a fibre one. I have the factory manual but it doesn't mention their usage. I think they had MLS gaskets anyways. So my question is should I use a sealing compound with the fibre gasket or not? Thanks, Jonny Quote Link to comment
rodneya
Ive never used a fibre gasket, but just like MLS gaskets Ive always been told install clean and dry. Quote Link to comment
arnout
I use a thin smear of silicon/RTV/sealingcom on both mating surfaces where contact to oil occurs. So only at the oil bores (outer studs) and surrounding the cam chain tunnel. This approach also worked for me on using copper head gaskets. I have no experience with MLS gaskets though. bitzz
Head gaskets go on dry. If you're worried about sealing, spend that energy lapping the sealing surfaces. Quote Link to comment

Jonny
Thanks all. I phoned the guy at Suzuki Performance Spares, as it arrived today and he said dry too. Quote Link to comment
