Svsam Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Should I get the file out (or maybe buy a dremmel) to open up the holes to make the intake smoother? that step surely can’t be doing any favours? Quote
Svsam Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 It’s a dot head on a b12 by the way. Plannomg on using bandit 36mm carbs. Quote

Gixer1460 Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 The DOT heads have a different inlet angle and rubbers to suit the 38mm carbs hence the disparity so yes a bit of carving with a carbide burrs would help as that step will hurt airflow! Stuff the inlets with rags before you start - if not removing the head - not familiar with the rubber part numbers - assume they are from a bandit with 36mm carbs? GSXR part #'s usually end 10, 20, 30 and 40 to get them on correct inlets. Quote
dupersunc Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Use the original rubbers for the head. the bandit carbs should fit them. Just making the inlet ports bigger isn't necessarily going to improve things. Quote

Bsr36ss if I remember right. literally just finished putting the engine back together and put these on as my last job. So won’t be taking the head off. Bit will look into doing some trimming next weekend. Cheers. Quote
cheese monkey Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Feckin inlet rubbers. I had similar woes a few years ago, wound me up big time. Get the right ones for the head rather than attacking it with a dremel. 1 Quote

clivegto Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Get the dot head rubbers they fit the b12 carbs fine. 1 Quote
