  2. I had this happen just last month. I'm sure it's quite common but not mentioned much due to embarrassment (dogh!). Mine was hiding down the front of the spring
  3. well I reckon it was the spark plug, seen it happen on a few 2 strokes years back. Sure glad it's not a common occurance .
  4. On my old bike (not suzi) plugs were always black due to being set too rich at top end. They only ever looked right after a right good thrashing(whistles). straight through measured pipes, no filters pods etc
  5. Put the battery on charge, then while you're waiting block the tank up a bit higher to see if the fuel lines are not running uphill over anything causing an air lock.
  6. Tyre wear, bad fitting to rim, rear wheel buckle, worn head stock bearings, there's a whole list of possibilities. swing arm linkages worn shock(twin)
  7. Can't you just tip the engine forward on the lower rear mounting? saves taking it all out ;-)
  8. Don't wast any time set it up (oil bores clean carbs drop old oil) and get it running quick! the engine heat will cook out any moisture
  9. Any engineer worth his salt can do a light recut of the seats as for the guides, if you got no noticeable play slap new seals in
  10. If you want to check inside the head. Lidle are doing those mechanics cameras with the probes etc, for 30 some thing quid

Good for you zedhead I'm still putting the bike back together At least I never had to open the ports out for the bigger (34mm) manifolds night before last, cos it was 11.15 pm. just got to fit the oil cooler then I can spin it over to prime, then sort the carbs, and the silencer for the bigger headers and a screen and-and AGHhhh time for bed up for work at 6ish
  14. no grunt is the first thing that gets noticed because the older engines made so much torque (mid range). But these newer engines rely on bhp which is produced with higher revs I get caught out all the time
