  1. Good tip but I prefer to use my hot air gun to expand the housings, works either way.
  2. Thanks guys, didn't get chance to work on it today as my father popped round for me to do a 'couple' of jobs on his Moggy Pickup which took all bloody day, just typing up his invoice now
  3. I know I know but I was hoping against hope and I should have known better that with a bit of fresh fuel all would be fine I guess its something to do with it been on the side stand side.
  4. I work in oil and gas industry and maintain some very high revving pumps etc so we are very aware of the problems with under or over greasing bearings, I have had a couple of drinks so will not try and explain it myself so have a read of this http://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/28664/dangers-of-overgreasing-
  5. My 'new' bike has been garaged since 2001, I want to get the engine sorted before I move on to running gear etc, I removed the sump to check the strainer (all good) and refitted with a new genuine gasket correctly torqued, I have a oil leak from the front (clutch side) corner bolt, I have looked on CMNSL and see that one of the bolts has a sealing washer but not the one that's leaking on mine, maybe fit one to the one that's leaking??? Engine fires up ok but is a bit wooly , I used my temp pen on the exhaust down pipes and (clutch side been #1) 1 & 2 shows even temps at 70deg C (approx., crap memory should of written it down) 2&4 (again approx) @ 170deg C, fitted new plugs so I guess 1&2 have gummed up carbs??
  6. Thanks for all the help guys, I have the bearings now, all SKF and rubber sealed, good advice on not putting in to much grease, a lot of people do not know that to much can cause a bearing to over heat due to having no space for air to help cool it.
  7. Thanks mate, don't suppose you know the seal numbers? I am going to my local bearing shop tomorrow to get them.
  8. Sorry if its been done, ive searched for ages and not found what I need. Does anyone have the wheel bearing sizes and or SKF/NTN etc numbers for 1100m wheels and sprocket carrier?
  9. Cheers Jaydee, typical I need a left side and just found a right side one, on with the search then.
  10. Does anyone know if you can use left for right or right for left?
  11. You spawny sod, makes mine at £1000 seem well over priced, am off to sulk now
  12. If its similar to GSXR1100 then I doubt it because of the oil strainer/pick up and it really will make the job a lot easier to remove the exhaust.
  13. Thanks guys, unsure on price, just getting a list together of parts to order, cant be arrised to make one given the low cost of a proper one, I will see what Robinsons charge with our discount. Who's Fiona Walker?
  14. Any good or should I stick to OE? I need a sump gasket.
