What's the plugs look like after you started it up, is number 2 plug wet or dry?

Remove carbs and give them a good clean and check settings, if it's been stud with fuel in carbs there will be all sorts of things need doing in there.

Them top rear engine mounts welded on ? Should be bolt on.
I'd say it's a gs1100g frame, has it been in a accident? Maybe the frame is twisted?

There should, if it's not came off a number one the body of the carbs.
Do you know if they are 36mm or 38mm ?

I've got a gsx750f on a b12 engined bike

I've seen it done but not down it, I'm told the Triumph swingarm is very wide and needs a lot of work to get it to fit.

I've got a JMC swingarm in my gsx1157et (oil cooled b12 motor instead of the air cooled) and I've fitted a RF900 rear wheel in that just had to make a new nower spacer for the sprocket side and then make one to go between the caliper hanger and swingarm.

I'd go for drilling the heads off the screws, removing the carb rubbers then get your grips on the threads of the screws. Cheeper to replace the screws than the rubbers.

Yes at one point when Streetfighter's where getting very popular over here a lot of them was just sport bikes with twin spots and no fairing and it all got very very boring, they should of called them road rash bikes not Streetfighter's
but I used to go to a popular bike meet and that got boring as all the bikes where the same and the only way you could tell them apart was from the number plates.

Don't know about bandit engines not being hammered as much as gsxr engines, the b12 was the bike to Streetfighter and Wheely everywhere at one point because they where easier to find and cheeper then a gsxr1100 MK1 more than the MK2.

Did US or other markets have an 1100 aircooled shafty ? I know we had 650/850/1000's
For the UK market the gs1100g (2V) was a import as we only got the gs650/850/1000 but some markets had a gs750g as well as the gs1100g but this man is down under so who knows

As @Duckndivesaid, pictures will help as it sounds like you might have the wrong spacers, or the right spacers in the wrong place. There's only one oil cooled shaft drive engine, and there's only one frame to suit it.
The bit that makes me think,
(I know don't happen often) is it's in air cooled not oil cooled section and he says it's a 81 or 82 model which the gsx1100g was not out then unless some was in the process of trying to put a gsx1100g into a gs1100g 2v ?

There where two people doing swaps like this in the project section last year/ start of this year with some nice info.

All sounds weird, as the gs850/1000/1100 shaft drive engines will swop between frames
But aren't the U701 engine a oil cooled engine not a air cooled?

Engine, is the same as the gsx g you'd need to make engine mount brackets.
Front end, if you use bandit 12 stuff it's a stem swap and like all front ends lock stops. If you use gsxr straight swap.
Rear end, now matter what you use you will need top hats and decide if you want to keep it twin shock or single.
That's very basically it but have a look through the project section to get some ideas.
