    Yes I always find the standerd CDI works better on them motors than the Dyna ones, but it time you got the bike done mate LOL

  2. I'd say carbs, as it inproved when you gave them a clean sounds like there is still some crap in there and check the air filtter.
    Make shoure you balence the carbs as well, the miss GSXR1100 dose this some times will tick over but pops and bands then dieds when you open the throtel give them a good clean out and a balence and works fine, some times you just get crap fuel when you fill up.

  3. Had the same problem over spring on my GS1000, the battry was 6 mouths old and the bike was used over winter but in spring the bike was getting slower and slower to start tryed all the bits out like you, ended up putting a new battery on it and it now spins over nice and fast and starts first time.

    So I'd try a new battery.

  4. I know I have slotted cam sprockets on my GS1000 and had no probs with the 20 teeth bit, I'm using Falcon sprockets and Andersons S3 cams.

    I'd recheck the timing so you don't hit a valve, I'm shoure some one will be along in a bit who knows more ;)
