  1. The engine found a home for a while in a proper frame. I really would like to see if I can track down the builder of the R703 engine and ask exactly waht it is. I did try PM'ing Guy Martin thru Faceache but he must be too important and busy to answer mere mortals.
  2. Just as a bit of a side tale to this, Jimmy got the R703 engine from me. It came my way when a friend pointed me in the direction of a locally for sale "aluminium framed blandit". I called the seller but spoke to his Dad who told me this story. "We used to spend a lot of time at the race tracks and (to shorten the story)I bought the bike from Guy Martins mechanic (before he was TV famous by the way)." He did mention the mechanics name but I cant remember it, but he was Guys best mate. Allegedly. The bike was not an aluminium framed Blandit but a "streetfightered" GSXR1100 slingshot. I bought it at a bargain price after explaining that it wasnt a 1200 blandit engine and it was only an 1127. I asked, "Do you have the std exhaust instead of that "streetfighter" one (a 4-2-1 system). At the time I had bought a draw thru turbo kit from Mr FBM from his old oil cooled gsx et. I only wanted the engine. Plans changed and so the R703 engine went to Jimmy. If the motor had been built by a decent race mechanic could he have sourced parts direct from Suzuki with the help of his best mate Mr Martin? I genuinely thought it was an 1127cc GSXR motor. Even after all of this time Id love to get to the bottom of the story and find out who actually built it and what it is exactly. Pics of the bike which I'm sorry to say that I think looked hideous.
  3. Jimmy, I've just been cleaning my mk2 blandit 1200 engine and noted the engine number which I noticed started with V720-******. I've checked the V5 which matches up along with 1157 on the engine. My Mk1 1200 blandit engine starts with V719-****** which is again an 1157. I was for a moment confused with the first number being a 7 as I suddenly thought, "it's a 750...." But what would be the chances of me buying 2 1200 blandits and both of them having 750 engines with 1157 on the barrels? None I hope. I dont have a clue with engine numbers though. LOL.

    Looking great Jimmy.
  5. They are cheaper than I remembered. They do them in all sort's of colour's too. http://www.awesomegraphics.co.uk/epages/Store2_Shop1475.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Store2.Shop1475/Products/0[643]
  6. Ive used a company called; http://www.awesomegraphics.co.uk/ This is some of there side panel decal's Ive used on my efe panel's. The decal's were great quality and best of all cheap. lol Im sure I only paid about £6-7 for them?
  7. Handling woes or not, what a great looking bike. Good luck with it.
  8. And An fitting's. But usually I buy from Torques if I need thing's quickly.
  9. Ive bought cooler's direct from China via Aliexpress.com with no problem's.
  10. Welcome back. What a great looking bike. It'd bet it's a hoot to ride.
  11. I know this isnt the for sale section, but I have a spare braced JMC arm from a GSXR1100M going spare. If you decide against the Bandit one give me a shout?
  12. Great pic's of some really cool bike's. If this is going to be on next year I'll try to travel north to have a look for myself.
  13. I can see the benefit to doing that. Ive had a bash at making some pipe's and it's the making of the exhaust end piece's/flanges etc that seem to take the time to make. If you do, Id be interested to see how you get on.
  14. Thank you Arttu for the info and thank you to Luke for the PM (which I'll answer when I have a bit more time).
  15. Thank you all for your replies. I was kind of hoping somebody might say such and such does them and charges £XXX for a Blandit. lol. Ive had a bash at making pipe's myself in the past but just feel Id sooner have somebody with a desire to build a set rather than me trying again. I had a contract with BOC but cancelled as it wast getting much use. I might just have to go and buy a new bottle of argon? God loves a trier. lol. Practice with a welder in my stupid hands will never make perfect. Im a crap welder. lol
  16. I have a partly build turbo Blandit. It has a side mount turbo set up which depending on my mood can look either hard core or pant's. Ive been thinking about buying a front mount turbo set of headers for a while. I even started making some but think they have been lost in the rubbish bin. Anyway, I noticed on the bay of evil that companies are selling stainless turbo header's for the likes of gsxr thou's for about the £100 mark. Seeing as a lot of people are running blow thru turbo's, what sort of money would I be expected to pay for some for my Blandit? Thought's please? The turbo, up pipe, plenum etc are fine. Im just not sure what I really think about the sidemount header's.
  17. I have not had a look on the usual auction site to compare, but Ive bought from this site with good result's. https://www.aliexpress.com/premium/oil-cooler-13-row.html?ltype=wholesale&d=y&origin=y&isViewCP=y&spm=2114.01020208.0.0.QTpHBb&site=glo&g=y&SortType=price_asc&SearchText=oil+cooler+13+row&tc=ppc&initiative_id=AS_20170322090348&blanktest=0 For my fitting's and hoses I usually buy from Torques UK. http://stores.Eblag.co.uk/Torques-U-K I think with some alloy bracket's and bit's from anywhere above you could do the job for not a lot of money!
  18. I dont want to go off track, but does the above mean you could put RF900 piston's into a Bandit 600 motor with a lower than standard compression??? Im just asking as I have a blandit 600 engined chop with a partly made blow thru set up. I also have a spare gsxr 750 slabby motor sitting here.
  19. One day when Im big and grown up Im gonna get me a bike like that.
  20. Oop's, I had not looked at the link.
  21. I know about the 630 Gpz sprocket, but can you not get a ZZR1100 sprocket with some offset??? Im sure my Kwak has an offset front sprocket?
