  1. Turbo everything. I managed 328bhp back in the day GT28 on 1216 I wanna venture into 400bhp territory, gotta have dreams right, so I'm building a sacrificial pig to do the dirty work with.
  2. Racing is Kool but sometimes something happens and reminds you that you're not in control of everything. So it went bang in spectacular fashion at Elvington in October trying for 200mph, First run managed 203mph and on the second run the bike went through the finish line at 197mph with a piston trying to make a bid for freedom. photo credit: Steve McDonald The stripdown revealed the wicked new shed shelf trophy for the price of speed. Stop crying over spilt milk. So with the engine out, cleaned and stripped the hunt for replacement parts began, big thanks to Dave Dunlop of FBM fame for gathering of parts and helping to rebuild the motor. Engine assembled and back home. Phil Wood, drag racer of many OSS based bikes most famously the Spondon Kat overseen the fine tuning of dialling the cams back in. Now that all that was left to do was fit the motor and check/clean/replace parts as I went along. Bird give me hand on date night lifting the motor back in and starting to fit the hardware. A new wastegate was required due to originally buying a cheap copy wastegate that rusted up, £259 later we are back in business. New service items fitted plugs/oil/filter/fuel filter etc and the bike fired back up this evening and sounds as evil as it once was. Be back at a racetrack before we know it! Can we go Racing now?
  3. Racing is the most financially selfish/expensive thing iv ever done in my life but these stickers make it totally worth it! Thank You OSS you beautiful people
  4. Hope it doesn't come to this but that would be very gracious of you. Ask um if they take stainless fasteners as payment?
  5. Intermediate for me please. I can't give £100 till payday 15th December tho, let me know if this is a problem.
  6. When will I need to find the coinage by for the trackday? Dont wanna miss out, just with Xmas n all
  7. Loving this already, I wanna do the trackday but need a bike. My turbo has an offset front end making it crap for fast flowing bends. I'm gunna buy something. Wheelie Bike always welcome for use on the stand.
  8. @MeanBean49 it's always had busa rods. I'm having 10+ 2mm 4030 spaced plates made by a water jet machine.
  9. Dave Brader of CC Engineering, I believe he has a Eblag shop with them ready to sell.
  10. Had a week off work, thought I best do something
  11. After realising the power I want to put through my Gpz framed Suzuki engine turbo thing, the more I'm looking at the weedy frame thinking it's gunna snap without some serious beefing up. Id firstly like to have the swingarm pivot area cut out and beefed up with a larger diameter pivot, neck bracing and additional plating here and there. Now I could just happily hack away to my hearts content and then shit myself once I realise what Iv done to a perfectly usable frame. Or. Seek the works of a skilled engineer/master bodger/proven previous works type of guy to take on the job or work with me. Im based near Chester but willing to travel. If it was left to me I'd have to start off in the left lane at Pod to cross the finish in the right hand lane. Suggestions? Mockery? Thoughts on the new Toblerone shape?

  13. Ever wake up and think I'm going to do 200mph today? Tuesday was one of those days. The Top Speed Tuesday put on by Straightliners at Elvington marked the last event of the year for myself, and what a year. With numerous top speed days for tuning the bike for the Wheelie Comp, seeing a failed 194mph kilometre wheelie for dropping it a few metres short of the required distance. A trip to Pendine sands in South Wales where I set two land speed records reaching 174mph on sand. Hundreds of miles on the road two up A track day at Oulton Park in the soaking wet, 300bhp on summer race tyres in the wet is not advisable Kid. A few static displays at various motorcycle shows to fly the OSS banner including Donnington where my alter ego Rene took the old girl for a few laps of the track. Many visits to RTR motorcycles for dyno runs, one off which was for the OSS dyno day where the bike made 300bhp. So all in all a good year! Just think of the stress that engine has had doing all that, the only fault I got all year really was a leaky block so I'd say quite a reliable one. Lets go out with a bang! I had that shit or bust attitude on. It had been raining all Monday night making it look like the event would be cancelled, that gut wrenching feeling driving to the track in the rain for 2 hours thinking this ain't gunna happen today. The rain stopped thankfully and after waiting a few hours to allow the track to dry we were given the all clear to attack the track. The bike is, as a few of you know, made for wheelies, this means a short 55" wheel base and big horsepower, not an ideal combo for Land Speed Racing. Time to do the job. I was waved off by the starting Marshall after sat staring down a 3km runway. Short shifting 1st, 2nd, 3rd into 4th with a little wheel spin as the track was cold and still damp, into top gear and the bike is now naturally wanting to wheelie up in the air, feathering the throttle on and off to try keep the front wheel planted was an impossible task. I felt gravity some what take over just shy of the line and I managed to pin the the throttle open all tucked in with my chin on the tank as I had no fairing to hide behind. Made it. Still alive. Slowly throttle off as not to upset the bike, heart beating, did it do 200?? That drive back to the pits and the timing office seems to take forever. 203.8mph! On an unfaired 30 year old motorcycle with a well and truly abused engine. Thank you to all involved over the past year for parts, advise and food.
