  1. +1 for these, as they offer the best bang for your buck and should fit with a little persuasion.
  2. Thanks, Wee Man - yeah, that's what I was afraid of! Anyone had much success sourcing viton o rings from a supplier by size and using them? With OE stuff being the cost it is, there must be a market for it?!
  3. What are people using when doing carb rebuilds, please? Gonna have the 40mm CVs off and give them a strip and rebuild, but there seems to be an abundance of different o ring kits around? Genuine Suzuki stuff isnt cheap, but I have had bad experiences with aftermarket kits fitting poorly or swelling on other bikes so wondered what people are using with good results? Thanks in advance...

    Dialling in cams

Thanks for posting that, much appreciated.
  5. Ok, are people using hollow tubing with an internal thread, or just simply using it to 'space' out the ears by sliding it over the bolts? Cant seem to find threaded tubing easily? I have another cooler to mount on my other bike and may as well do it properly, and retrofit the bars to the one in the pic. Thanks
  6. I used these little rubber 'ring' type grommets between the cooler and the mount to kill the vibes. So far, so good...
  7. Standard full akra... still the best system about that isnt unobtanium, I think?!
  8. Ah yeah, sometimes you can still.be getting a spark and not necessarily seeing it? Chuck some fresh fuel in it too if you haven't already...
  9. Have you swapped out the cdi or tested it in another bike? Equally, try some fresh plugs? HT leads or caps dodgy?
  10. Here's my two. The blue/black one is actually an 1100N in M clothing (same scheme as Oily's - the original fairing is preserved in the loft). The red 1100M is currently in it's naked guise and gets lots of attention from the hipster crew... Had the N since I was 21 (thirteen years ago) and will never sell it unless I am destitute, god forbid!!
  11. Where'd you get it serviced at mate? Got one of these that needs a refresh and that looks like new. Loving the build, by the way...
  12. Finally got round to swapping out the tensioner spring. Spot the obvious length difference... Anyway, i assume the tensioner has a non return ratchet on it to stop it backing off when the spring cap bolt is removed? I just undid the cap bolt, took the old spring out, put the new one in and torqued it back up... not sure if i need to pull the valve cover and check it's seated and tensioned before turning it over again?
  13. Crap in pilot jets? Float heights are adjustable by carefully bending the metal tang on the float retainers and are normally around 14 - 15mm.
  14. Thanks for the help. So far, so good with the cooler and lines! Be interested to see if they run cooler with these compared to the curved oem ones...
  15. Think 16 row is probably minimum for an aftermarket cooler on an 1157 bandit?
  16. Looks good. Racefit system must have been £££!
  17. Thanks guys. 19 row cooler - i used a couple of 5mm thick o rings around each bolt between the cooler and plate to try and keep the vibes at bay. Bike is a standard 1127M with akra pipe, airbox and 40mm carbs - hopefully should be big enough.
  18. Have made a pair of lines up to bottom feed the replacement cooler i have mounted on my 1100M, but they don't seem to look 'right' for some reason? It has an akra system fitted and i have deliberately made sure the lines dont touch the headers to avoid heating the 'cooled' oil. Is there anything else to watch for? Have used a 45 deg and 90 deg on the sump fittings to retain oil filter access... Thanks
  19. The biggest thing i would change on it is probably the brakes - they seem to have less bite than the Nissin 4 pots on my GSXR11's, despite changing the lines/pads/seals etc. This really showed itself on the Alpine roads. Been looking for a radial k5 front end or similar to go on for a while. I reckon i could have got more from it, but didn't have the balls to run it down to the flashing fuel light for fear of conking out!
  20. I've just got back from a 1500 mile trip to the Swiss Alps on mine... Nothing else I've ridden makes me grin so much, and the rotary damper isn't that bad as long as you don't run the chain too tight (mine still has the rotary damper fitted, but I've got an Ohlins to go in when I get around to getting it rebuilt). Mine is a 98 model and seems to have had most of the issues ironed out. It didn't miss a beat on the Alps trip, though having to fill up every 100 -120 miles was a nuisance. It's as comfortable as anything else I've ridden - more so than my slingshot 1100's. They still seem to be dirt cheap and, I think, are absolute bargains for what they are. Get it bought!
  21. I'm sure a man of your means can pick one up relatively cheaply! Oh, and I say with hugger, FWIW...
  22. Keep it! I agree with oily - fitting an akra makes it feel sooo much lighter. Here's mine:
