  1. If you replaced everything with non OEM you can expect them to leak (Ive had too many on my bench not to know this). The fact is your carbs are failing. I dont know the fuel burn rate at tickover vs the fill rate on the tank but I suspect you might be inviting more problems than you realise. Starting, ticking over...all opportunity for flooding - had this with a Bandit 1200...filled the engine with fuel without being on prime. You really need to bench tests those carbs! I'll test them for you if you like? Will cost you a jam donught and 3 cigarettes tho. I really think its worth sorting this.
  2. Is this a common occurence? After what sort of time sitting does it usually happen?
  3. Needle floats aren't doing their job, they should have stopped this happening. I flood test all the carbs I build on a bench, they should never piss fuel no matter what is loaded on them. I'd be checking/ changing them if it were me just to keep things right
  4. Had a 1200 v low mileage that ran like a pig. All it needed was new plugs, the ones in it were barely touched but had got wet. Odd. Very sensitive to plugs. However flooding carb would make the plug wet. Take carbs out, connect to a remote tank, let them fill up. If fuel starts pissing out its needle floats sticking or shagged (they go in the end). Floats should be fine because they don't adjust themselves. OEM is a good way to not have problems. Anything else good luck.
  5. Needle jets failing / sticking and flooding the carb. Compression doesnt go by doing nothing. I'd bet my life its a floodong carb
  6. @billd My exhaust restriction btw was just in the size of the exhaust - I think it had like built restrictions that made the exhaust chambers very narrow, it was a case of just bin the whole system. It was 25 odd years ago so I don't remember very well
  7. We have the same part number. Let me look it up on Fowlers
  8. Ill get the CDI part number tomorrow...we have the same bike. I remember hearing the same as you and did find and bin the exhaust very restricted.
  9. My 750F has 1100G carbs with I think a stage 1 dynojet kit fitted many years ago,(a mod I did with help from a guy who raced one at the TT with support from Dynojet), standard filter and a fairly standard road exhaust - it read I think 99 or 100 BHP on the last rolling road, so I presume it has a UK CDI - I will check though. Thanks
  10. My 750F was from Japan. I have UK carbs...UK aftermarket exhaust. Are my cams and CDI likely to be different?
  11. Thanks for that, i will check mine
  12. Thankyou for the relay info. I will have a look at the breaker. Do you have a link to the type of fuse you mean? Or is this on another thread?
  13. Ok understood re the missing crimp...still scary! Understood re the 10A fuse, as per diagram. Do I need to know about replacing Suzuki breaker (hopefully not)
  14. Wonder if the base red was as standard?? Bit scary if it was
  15. Surely this wasn't from factory standard? Im guessing a bodge? Interested to know more
  16. Ive never bought a relay - what type do I need and from where can I buy a decent one? Also are we settled on the 30A fuse?
  17. I understand that, so its definitely clear. Lucky cause I was starting to get confused (easily done with electrics)
  18. Error post, thought i was available to donate a bike
