  1. Beware shite needle float valves, many non oem leak badly Fit mikuni or wemoto valves, then set up a remote tank hooked to your carbs on a bench to make sure no leaks Ive seen new valves leak at 40 mins under load like this To reset float heights alter the tab the valve hangs on. Best to youtube different ways of doing it, ideal to have a manual for correct float height However if it wasn't wrong before it cant move on its own ... 99% of leaks come from cheap after market needle float valves, always the same problem
  2. That is bizarre! I had a similar issue with a 1200 Bandit years ago, really crap mechanic told me to change the plugs which had done sod all miles. It worked?!
  3. Superb. Loving these photos seeing your rapid progress

    new carbs

Any cv carbs from the 1100G will fit, mine has them, much smoother ride
  5. Just found my old pictures - I too had to take the sump off, the pick up and the oil filter! Went in ok as I recall, albeit lifting the frame onto the engine. I was able to do it on my own.
  6. I can't remember what I had to do, but I also recall removing the casing on top (4 bolts) of the head...the one the air filter pipe connects to...gave me that extra bit of clearance. Im half wondering if I managed to get mine out with the sump on in fact
  7. This is how I did mine: Go to local tip Excuse me mate can I have that mattress? Lie mattres on floor Lie bike on mattres Lift chassis off the engine For re-fit repeat process. Its the easiest way
  8. Make sure you vaseline up those bits you've cleaned, stop the corrosion coming back
  9. Was going to suggest the same. I had the same thing once with a battery
  10. Had this once on the GSXR...bad earth by the ignition harness. Found it by jiggling the harness with ignition on. Have you got an alarm / immobilser? I took mine off my Bandit

    Clutch slave?

Not answering the question but I bought the whole slave for my GSXR because as a complete unit it was so cheap, might be worth getting a price
  12. Do you have an optimiser? I like them because they keep it charged and let you know if its fooked. I too would start with battery, loose connections etc dont start from doing nothing, though corrosion does of course. WD40 sprayed on electronics...vaseline on connectors.

    F or G?

Sorry chaps, I've led you on a wild goose chase. Yes the tab at the back is for the mud guard. Trying to remember what the issue with my box was. I think it had an extra tab at the front of it, I remember it had an extra tab that stopped me from being able to locate the box in its rightful place, possibly at the front of it. I remember it was identical apart from this extra tab - possibly from a later model perhaps?

    F or G?

@Swiss Tonimy "G" box had a mount sticking out the bottom - I remember now, so it hit the frame. I gave it away to a member on the previous site. Wonder why it had the extra mounting? Bike was silver and purple. Import or UK model? I just bought it as bits for spares

    F or G?

Hi mate Battery box in situ is far too difficult to see anything, I checked last night What i do know is that it has one less mounting lug than a G, but I need to take it out to show you. I'll check on Fowlers for a picture tomorrow

    F or G?

Yes I can tomorrow afternoon @Swiss Toni. From memory it has 3 mounting points, latterly they added a 4th

    F or G?

F: Flush tail light Belly pan that goes away from the wheel at the bottom Twin seats (red or blue) Different vents on upper fairing Smaller swinging arm Battery tray has one less mounting point I think that's the full list
  19. I was expecting you to find nothing left after cleaning it!
  20. Welcome to OSS. Good luck with the build!
