  1. Another thing I've heard about those Chinese remote reservoir M/Cs is that the hose is garbage, not resistant to brake fluid and eventually fails.

  3. Damn thats a cool bike. Must be a hoot ripping around on.
  4. Tough finding words. The level of detail is incredibly beautiful.
  5. Beautiful build and a well deserved BOTM. congrats.
  6. I dig the top. Somewhat resembles an 85e, but with a twist.
  7. Nice. Thanks for the share. Good luck.
  8. The clutch switch is easily bypassed. Trace the wires from the switch back to the next connection, unplug the switch leads, plug the wires from the harness together. Done. The contacts at the switch tend to get corroded. Also, the switch does have adjustment. There are 2 screws under the perch with slotted holes to slide the switch. (Same for the front brake light if you have issues there in the future). If you decide to take it apart, be aware that there are tiny parts that will fall out, run away, then hide....
  9. Well, I dont know what your Kat looked like, but I think that looks like a good stand in.
  10. Well, it’s shaping up to be a bad winter for bike projects with a lot of other stuff going on. I did finally get the title transferred over to me. First time it’s officially changed ownership since 1993.... I was slightly concerned - while I was removing parts from the bike I noticed that the tab for the steering lock was cut off... no issues though. Since I was dealing with the pain of the MVC (motor vehicle commission), I also got a replacement registration card as I’ve been rolling with a nearly illegible one for two years - it went thru the wash after receiving it in the mail. I do have a set of modded 1150 forks enroute to me. Gold Valves and Sonic springs installed. Price was fantastic.
  11. I wonder if that started life as 750T. Did you check the engine size that is cast into the front of the cylinder block? (Hoping it says 1074)... That chrome fender looks like the shorter T version. Regardless, you have a pile of parts and loads of options.
  12. Nice! Plus it has black wheels which make any vehicle cooler.
  13. Welcome, good looking ES. They have grown on me quite a lot over the years. Definitely look into the full strip and redo of the carbs even if they look decent. I thought my bike ran good, but a full carb strip / clean and installation of the noted O ring kit made a huge improvement in low speed / in town riding. Unless the carbs are severely gummed up or have damage from ham fisted POs all of the parts are generally salvageable.
  14. Not too familiar with Kats, but is that tank clearanced to make room for the head? Regarding the pipe, perhaps he should have tried to squeeze it oval in a vice before pulling out the B.F.H. Cool bike though.
  15. There is a complete 1150 oil cooler set up on Eblag, with the proper oil filter cover for $160 if you looking for a stock type of setup. Would need to make mods to mount the cooler bracket on the Kat frame though.
  16. I've had a US market E and currently an ES. The E had fairing mount lugs with plastic caps stuck in the hole as no class noted. My thinking is that they are all the same. As Blubber noted about the brackets, my half faired bike mounts do not have provisions to mount the belly (lower) fairing.
  17. Dang, that’s harsh. I like to think that I’m just a garden variety American A hole and generally not full of shit. Improerly serviced septic tanks put food on the table when I was growing up - not shit mind you, my father installed / replaced septic systems...
  18. If your replacing the tail section, hold on to, or sell that chrome trim piece. They apparently disppear over the years and stock type resto guys are often on the lookout for them and the clips to hold them on.
  19. The GS is pretty cool, but I voted for the bike beow it. Kidding. Good luck. Looks to be the only bike built with actual performance over style as a priority. Looks great. Going fast IS looing good.
  20. My current and past EFs were both like that. Seeing as how the plastic panel screws to the seat, I was going to take a bit off of the rubber pads where the seat rests on the frame to close it up, but would likely require the need to do the front seat as well to keep the seats lined up. I left it as is.
  21. Definitely intriguing. I’m not, nor would I ask him to hold it, especially since plans are far from concrete, but please let me know it’s status when The time gets closer. Appreciated.
  22. Daryl, you Canadians always tease us with your dirt cheap ef bikes..... the screen on that thing is huge. A good looker too. I haven't checked with Posseux. Money is stupid tight and I already own this one. Late nights in the garage are (relatively) free and ocasassionly mind freeing... or mindless.
