  1. Cycle o rings .com is no more. I think Nessim over at GS Resourses is carrying it on, but not necessary advertising.
  2. Yikes. Apologies for aiding and abetting a rule breaker. I have R T F R. Apparently I forgot that rule. I’ll take my lashes now...
  3. Currently it has 110-90-16 on the front and 130-90-17 on the rear. They are the Bridgestone BT 45 tires. I generally don’t ride too aggressively so I don’t need sticky gumball tires.
  4. I used to go up up a size - 140 on the rear, 120 up front. Last go, I went with stock sizes and noticed zero difference in handling. Unless your after a look, stock is Fine. My understanding is that you can't go crazy trying to fit fat tires on skinny rims without compromising handling.
  5. That’s a fine group of cycles. OSS well represented.
  6. Function over form. If it allows you to ride, it’s good. Any OSS looks better on the prowl then in the garage.
  7. There'sa part number on them, of which I dont recall. If no one chimes in before then, I'll take a look when I get home this evening.
  8. I had exactly this problem, but mine was self generated...
  9. Not sure if it works on a GSXR, but it works a treat on the GS / GSX. https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?135697-1-Quick-Turn-Throttle-Mod/page2&highlight=%241+++throttle+mod
  10. Good to know that there’s a relatively easy replacement if mine fails. After working that style of switch over the ownership of three bikes going back to the mid 90s it’s second nature . A change at this point might throw this aging rider for a loop.
  11. I was having problems with not being able to turn off my high beam so I had to open up the control. Not sure what the issue was, but I did find a small piece of plastic floating around inside. Not sure of it’s origin, but after cleaning everything up, it works properly. There are lots of tiny parts in there that tried to make a bid for freedom when taking it apart. Pictures taken for general documentation. Hopefully helpful for others.
  12. Not 100 percent sure, but I think the 750 gears you want are 80-82. The non roller crank bearing 16 valve engine.
  13. The paint scheme does go a long way. I don't particularly care for the 1984 design. 85 and 86 I dig. If you're going full custom it doesn't apply. Personally I've never considered the full fairing to be beautiful. At some angles it's awesome, at others it can be awkward, but always cool, and always unmistakable. I consider it one of its charms.....
  14. Homer this idea to the extreme on his build. And it looks wicked.
  15. Hey Charles, welcome. Yes those fairings are hideous. I like em. They sure seem to be polarizing though.
  16. About the clutch. Mine never shifted particularly smoothly and I thought it was just the nature of the beast. Several years ago I had it apart and found a spacer and shim that were supposed to be behind the hub missing. Their missing damaged the oil pump gear and thrust washer. After replacing the damaged parts and properly shimming the hub it was like a whole new machine. Great job on saving that mess you bought. It looks great.
  17. When i did my 1150 I used a bolt with a 19mm head welded to a piece of pipe.
  18. Treat the original headlight like gold. Its not as valuable as a complete E setup, but still a bit tough to come by.
  19. This is the label. Honestly, if you’re not going back to stock, it’s not that important. The F won’t be on the side panel decal. Another tell is the instrument panel mounting- E will mount from the bottom by two bolts. ES will have a slot in either side for a mounting bracket. Pic of a 85 ES (blue) and E. add... the tank on the bike is an 84 paint schene. The rest is custom.
  20. Cool cycle. If you are not yet aware that is not the original front end. Someone was in the process of upgrades. There should be a sticker of the right side of the bike on seat support of the frame with info (if it's still there). It will give model info, etc. There will be a letter at the end, which indicates model year. F is 1985. We got the 1150 E / ES with the fairing in the US from 84-86. Other then paint they are all pretry much the same.
